I have some more A/A to report. This morning I noticed BofA sliced my CL on my NFL card to $48,500 from $74,000. This would have put me at 99% util on this card. Fortunately, I had already put the wheels in motion to pay this card off, and the balance is now $0. I spoke to an analyst who was concerned about my overall level of business debt, which is around $300K. I was not prepared for this, but I mentioned something about that figure being inaccurate because some paid-in-full balances had yet to report. (True, but we're still talking $250K+ of legitimate business debt.)

They asked me about my business, income, and assets. I was asked to fax income and asset statements. Per my usual MO, I sent asset statements only. They have since restored my CL to the original $74K.

The fact that the A/A seems to have started on the business side is potentially troublesome. Perhaps the big boys are starting to tighten up the A/R process for biz credit?

Any idea which report they pulled for the business credit, and if you can get a copy?

Ouch.

I too am interested in which CRA they pulled.

What is your aggregate BofA limit?

They must have pulled EQ biz. Our company has only a handful of tradelines on D&B and Experian.

I posted a list of companies reporting to EQ biz in January.

To answer LJI, I have 2 x $25K biz lines (both maxed out), so $50K biz and $75K personal.

I don't know why I'm so stubborn (and or lazy) Moral: always check FW before responding to an offer

My son received a preapproved offer for a WxMu ESPN card. I remembered reading here that people here have been getting generous CLs from WxMu on preapproved offers. (30K)

I even had a vague memory that you (lh) had posted receiving a high line on your ESPN card.

Should have gone back and done some careful reading.

They approved him for 6K.
I don't think he's had a card that low since his first year of college. Even Saks (HSBC) gave him 9K.
Most of his lines from other issuers are 25K plus-- even his old Providian (WxMu) is 17K.

And WxMu doesn't allow reallocation, right?.
What did you do with the ESPN card? Did you keep it or close it?

Wa.Mu is a strange beast. Haven't seen any non-preapproved offers higher than 10K or so. Most pre-approved offers result in 30K CLs - your son was very unlucky.

Wa.Mu doesn't allow you to request a CLI - auto CLIs only. I have no idea what do with my useless ESPN card. It's currently stuffed in a sock at the very back of my sockdrawer.

A year and a half ago I applied for a WAMU card with a pre-approved offer. My scores (FAKOs) were in 740-750 range and I got $12K CL. My wife's score around 760 yilded her a $17K CL on a pre-approved offer. This seems to suggest that highly desirable $30K CL requires 85-90%-ile FAKO scores in addition to being pre-approved ...

Maybe you were thinking of me...you even commented on it the other day.

Though the rate of success seems slim to none I'm going to suggest that he contact them and ask for a credit increase.

His current Fakos are still relatively high (785 782 763) but they may have been spooked by a flurry of recent activity
on Exp in the last 2 months

new job
new apt
new car
2 new credit cards

Perhaps he'll have luck explaining that to a CSR.

ETA-- He says he has a pile of other WAMU preapprovals on his desk. Maybe he picked the wrong card to apply for.

Hey Lhendricks,
I just read of your recent app denial by Citi(on another thread). I had my cards cancelled 4 or so months ago too but recently got a letter encouraging me to call about getting my card(was specifically referring to a mTVU card I had) reinstated, though when I called they said closed accounts can only be reinstated within 60 days of closure. Anyways I just submitted an app for another mTVU card so we'll see if I get the same treatment you did. If so I plan on calling in about it.

Additionally, I noticed it's been a good 15 months since this AOR 2.0 was posted...have you just applied for a few more cards or did you ever do a full blown AOR 3.0? Just curious what your approach to the current credit offerings were as I was tempted to apply for some more biz credit cards. Cheers.

I applied for a few cards in Jan and a few more in Feb.

Full blown A0Rs aren't likely to help my credit profitability at this point - I'm near the max exposure with all of the big boys, and the smaller lenders just don't seem to be worth the effort. I am planning to rinse and repeat with BankATL and Advanta soon. Might throw in another CapOne app and FNBO biz, too.

jevon, let us know what happens with your latest Citi app.

Is there an uncapped crap one offer out there?
Their limits always seemed like chump change to me.

my first (unsolicited) capOne biz app netted 20K. 0% for 12 months on purchases. works for me.

Friday I applied for 3 cards - 1 for me, 2 for mrs. H.

Me:
Advanta, approved after 15 minutes, unknown CL. I had paid-in-full and closed my $17K card the week before. Applied using my s-corp.

Wife:
Advanta, approved after 15 minutes, unknown CL. My wife has a new sole prop (for real), so I used it to apply for Advanta. Last year Advanta gave her the Heisman because I already had a card for our s-corp.

Chase biz, 0% for 15 months, approved today, unknown CL. This one was the biggie. She had just paid off a BT on a biz card with a $65K CL. Should be able to reallocate to the new card and keeping rolling.

I'll rinse and repeat with BankATL early next month.

Do you mean you need to close the existing Bank Atlantic account first and then apply for another one?

lhendricks your rolling thunder strategy is inspiring me to do my own.

So i'm thinking of a real passive AOR2.0 for myself. Then start rolling thunder a few months later (after I complete b*).

Are you bothering with B* with your rolling thunder strategy?

Yes. I plan to consolidate BankATL with a Juniper personal card, reapply for BankATL, then reallocate from personal to new BankATL. Jackcrawfish and Glitch99 have used this strategy successfully.

Not really, although I use CreditSecure and CreditKarma, so I could bump TU inqs in about 6-8 weeks.

Did you have any balances on your personal report showing when you applied for those couple of cards for rolling thunder?

I want to plan a rolling thunder strategy so it helps to know how much personal CC debt i can carry to still qualify for good limits on new apps.

My first AOR was a huge success even though I was carrying a 24k balance on a personal Citi 0 for life card.

I had 16K on a 25K line reporting on personal. EQ FICO around 790. Since I got a couple of rejections earlier this year (Wachovia, Discover) for too much biz debt, I tried to time that as well. I'm guessing EQ Biz was showing about $150K of debt on $600K of total CL. I don't know if Chase or Advanta care about biz util, although they both report to and pull from EQ biz.

bad news:

My new Advanta card has a limit of $2.5K. I knew that was a risk with closing and reapplying - my closed card had a limit of 17K. Oops.

good news:

Wife received her new Chase biz card with a limit of $20K. I'm kinda shocked, given she just paid off a biz card with a limit of $65K. Time to reallocate and enjoy lots of Chase's free money for 15 months.

Started the rinse and repeat with Barclays. Called the credit dept to consolidate $43K BankAtlantic into SeaMiles. I was transferred to a "business credit analyst" who took my request. He said anything above $25K would have to be reviewed by a manager. I didn't see any changes this morning, so I called again. A few hours later, my my BankATL appears closed, and my SeaMiles card is sporting a new CL of $43K. (Hey, I lost $500 of CL in the transition. I'm outraged! )

How long should I wait to reapply for BankATL? Any reason to wait more than a day or 2?

Thanks to jackcrawfish, Glitch99, DjPill for showing us biz->personal reallocs are possible with Barclays.

I waited a week. But I applied for something different to look like I wasn't a gamer. Had Bank Atlantic, applied for Juniper Biz. Yeah I lose two months of BT but since you are doing rolling thunder it shouldn't matter.

Would you mind sharing how much revolving debt you are showing on your personal CR that you plan on applying with and how many TU inquiries?

I am being very conservative these days. 16K (showing) on personal, 0 TU inqs.

Applied this morning for a new BankATL. As expected, the app was declined citing "Sufficient credit with Barclays." Called the credit department and was immediately transferred to a business credit analyst. Dude's looking at my file and says, "I think we spoke last week to transfer credit to your personal card." Why yes, yes we did. Told him I realized I wanted a new business card. He offered to open the new BankATL card by reallocating from SeaMiles. Left $2K on SeaMiles to create a new $41K BankATL card. So easy.

regarding your puny Advanta credit line, how long ago did you close your 17k Advanta line - a week before your puny line card? While I realize EugeneV and others have confirmed a second card is not an option with Advanta, would you be willing to try the back door approach as I did with Wells Fargo? Wells policy was "usually one card per SSN." With them, I was able to reopen the old card and consolidate to the new card.

LOL! I had a plausible reason prepared for wanting a new business card. Had I not expected to be questioned, you can be certain stammering would have ensued.

That's an excellent idea. Why the hell not give it a shot? I did try (unsuccessfully) a CLI on the new Advanta, but it was denied because the card was new. What I really need to do is get access to an undwerwriter/analyst at Advanta. Haven't found a way to do that.

Depending on your level of interest, from here the following Advanta contact numbers (non vanilla customer service type):

Application Phone Number: 800-780-3945
Corporate Phone Number: 215-657-4000 (direct to admin assistant)

BankATL is denying my second 20K BT. They are telling me 20K is the limit per account, not per transfer. Completely different story from what I heard from them yesterday and others have reported. Wait a day or 2 and try again with another CSR?

Definitely try again. Unless it's a very new policy, that sounds like BS.

my thoughts exactly. i was going to ask for a manager, but the front line rep had already confirmed the "policy" with her supervisor. i'll call again tomorrow.

Called again and had no problems requesting the 2nd BT. Hit my BofA billpay card 2 business days later. I'm wondering if the first BT request was still in process when I was denied for the the 2nd BT.
