1. YES - you can fund this with a credit card. up to $1000 as a purchase.
2. According to the BOFA rep, if you are a current customer it is a SOFT pull.
The first I can attest to as i just did it, the latter I cannot comment as It doesn't reflect that fast in the CB.

Yay! I was looking for a new BofA Checking account to exploit after I do my next AOR. And don't forget about the fun you can have with the Keep The Change promotional period.
I had been getting hard pulls with each checking account opened, but last one was just a soft so maybe they making this easier...

so this question may appear dumb, but the promo terms leave some room for intepretation. perhaps others w/ more experience w/ bofa promos can help...
"Only vaid for new MyAccess Checking Accouts"; if one already has a MyAccess (and has a BofA Card), if I opened another MyAccess, it would technically be a new account. It does not say anything about new checking customers...
However, I can also see how and why this would not be possible. I already have DD setup and lots of links to my current account, so closing that account and reopening for $100 is not worth it.

hotness im in!
app was pretty easy lets see if its a hard pull or not im a current cc custmer, although my accounts are MBNA transfer and 1 accont that was jut bought by BOA
I already have myaccess checking for the $100 promo and $50 savings promo last year (closed savings after 6 months), now opening another myaccess checking for another $100 promo and because this one does not require direct deposit to be free. My employer only allows DD to 4 different banks, so this will free up one of those direct deposits to use for other offers.
don't forget the $50 lowes and mobil gift cards from http://www.bankofamerica.com/warranty/index.cfm?template=overview mentioned in This Thread. After canceling and joining both twice and once for my wife... and($15 for online banking test drive), this adds up to $565 free money from BOA so far.
My wife didn't want me to bank with boa because of their bad customer service (they were giving out her account information to unauthorized people.. But I think we have more than made up for it.
$100/(5 min * 1 hr/60 min) = $1200/hr. I love FatWallet.

what happens if you already have a regular checking account with BOFA? Not the MyAccess checking, but the regular one where you need a minimum balance. Can you still sign up for the MyAccess and get the $100 credit?

I have used similar offers before and got the bonus without any hassles on opening new accounts.
So has it been determined if its a hard pull or soft for *existing* card holders who have this offer showing on their online accounts?

In terms of funding the min balance for the account. Do you have to fund the money online such as transferring from an existing account or can you physically go to the bank and deposit that money?
and does anyone know when this offer expires?

If i fund this with a credit card by doing "online transfer", does that go through as a cash advance or a charge?

Go with WAMU!Please stop threadcrapping. This thread is not a referendum on BOA's practices. Besides, if and when WAMU comes out with a $100 account opening special, please post it here. Otherwise, your comment is completely off topic here.

If it's only offered in certain states, you might be in one of those. Would it say if it was only offered in certain states?
The reason I'm concerned about this is that the code I was given was CH100CSP instead of CH100CTA. But my offer is vague, with a vague implication that it might or might not be free without direct deposit. But what if each code is only valid in some states? Might we lose the $100 by using the wrong code?
How long did the $100 take? Did you receive any indication that you would be receiving it, such as an email saying you qualified and had to wait 50 days or whatever?

did you even finish reading the first post?
"only valid only for new MyAccess Checking® accounts"
Depending on semantics, a conversion from another type of checking account could be taken as opening a "new" MyAccess account since I've never had one before. My question is still valid.

BOA does not sent out emails saying that you've qualified for the offer. If you are concerned about it, after the account is established send them an email through online banking to confirm that their records reflect the offer code. I received my $100 within 2-3 weeks from account opening.
FYI, I funded my account in April and have already received the $100 bonus.
Oops. Sorry about the double post.

Did anyone who had to contact BoA in order to get their bonus get a 1099? I had to contact them and they manually credited me the $100, but still have not received a 1099. I'm thinking maybe only the bonuses that went through and were credited without a hitch, generated a 1099, and manual credits don't trigger them. BoA are the only ones left pending on my list...
