2. According to the BOFA rep, if you are a current customer it is a SOFT pull.

The first I can attest to as i just did it, the latter I cannot comment as It doesn't reflect that fast in the CB.

Nope, it's a HARD pull, even if you're a current credit card customer.

signed up, 11.30pm last night approved, tried to signon to boa, but its asking me for some info like check card # and pin to add it to my account im like 99% sure this means approved.

Got a hard pull live in Wisconsin, kinda disappointing this bonus better go through.

I'm a current BofA BANKING customer and there was only a SOFT pull to open this checking account.

So I applied for a similar thing on new years and didn't get my bonus until April of this year. Anyone know if I can get in on this one too? It's been more than 6 months since I applied for the account with the bonus, but it has been less than 6 months since I've received my bonus.

Sounds like they will perform a hard pull if you are solely a credit customer. If you are a checking customer, then BofA will only perform a softie.

Does the hard pull hurt your credit ratings?

One way to avoid a hard pull of Experian is to do a security freeze. Equifax and Trans Union don't matter as much, because you can bump their inquiries.

But how will BoA react if they try to pull Ex and find the freeze?

They will call to verify info.

Just an FYI:

Addendum to: Personal Schedule of Fees
Effective July 7, 2006

This Addendum amends the Personal Schedule of Fees. It applies to MyAccess® Checking accounts opened online by customers who reside in states with no Bank of America banking centers.*

MyAccess® Checking

Monthly maintenance fee. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fee waived

Banking at ATMs
Non-Bank of America ATM fees

Withdrawals, transfers and balance inquiries at a non-Bank of America ATM located in the U.S., each. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fee waived**

*As of the effective date of this addendum, Bank of America has no banking centers in AK, AL, CO, HI, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MS, MT, NE, NE, OH, SD, UT, VT, WI, WV and WY.

** When you use a non-Bank of America ATM, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator or any network used and you may be charged a fee for a balance inquiry even if you do not complete a funds transfer. Non-Bank of America ATM fees still apply to ATMs located in a foreign country.

Bank of America, N.A. Member FDIC.

Seems they might give you $100, but still charge you $5.95 if you live in a state with a BOfA location.

Was also told by CSR that credit card initial deposit would be considered a "cash advance".

Yes, I have a cc as well as a line of credit, but no checking account and they did a hard pull on Experian.

I'm waiting till my next AOR, to not get a hard pull before then. I noticed today that I can get the CH100CTA offer by clicking a link while logged in. The CH100CSP offer only comes when I log out.

I will probably sign up near the end of June. My Ex is frozen, so it will be interesting to see how BoA reacts. If they call me, are they likely to insist that I unfreeze my Ex? Or can they just as easily pull TU or Eq? Or if they just call to verify my info, and not insist on a credit pull, that would be a good reason to have Ex frozen while applying for a checking account, because it would be a way to avoid a hard pull.

Those who got a hard pull, have any of you ever had a BoA checking account before? I'm just wondering if that could be part of the difference between those who do and don't get a hard pull. That it could be just those who have never had a BoA checking account, or those who have never had a BoA checking or savings account. Or is it only those who don't presently have one?

I've never dealt with BOA before, my only cards were MBNA buyouts and my local bank sold there cc division to BOA last month. Anyone confirm the initial cc deposit does/doesnot count as cash adv on a boa cc

Present.

I've had BofA Credit cards before, and I currently have one.
I've had checking accounts with them before, but closed my last one a few months back.

I got a hard pull with this offer, but on TransUnion.

I did not have BOA checking account and I have only credit cards with BOA. I don't like BOA, but I opened the account with $50 minimum requirement (at that time) 2-3 months ago. I just got the $100 credited.
Now I am waiting for good saving rate to open one. So good luck.

I think now the fine print says you get the bonus in 30 or 50 days. Has anyone got the bonus in this amount of time?

alert mods

Meh, I have to wait 1-2 days for them to open my account. C'est la student-vie. Funded the $25 from my BofA student visa, it better be a purchase and not a cash advance / no direct deposit requirement.

Your assurance that you are indeed dealing with the Bank of America website lol.

i've read on other threads that funding with a boa cc will count as a purchase (up to $1000 i believe). i just funded mine with a chase cc and it showed up as a purchase.</blockquote>
