just goes to show CSRs don't know what they're talking about half the time... i don't believe anything they say unless they can cite some terms to back up what they're saying!! |

Anyone know how to add the "MyAccess Checking" to my existing credit card account? It didn't show up automatically. |

i've read on other threads that funding with a boa cc will count as a purchase (up to $1000 i believe). i just funded mine with a chase cc and it showed up as a purchase.</blockquote>
how much did you fund? I read from another BoA thread that anything over $25 didn't work.</blockquote> |

Hello!
I just signed up. I already had a checking and savings from last years KTC offer. It did not ask me to fund it? When and how do I fund it with a credit card? I have my former MBNA World Mastercard. If anyone can confirm their funding was as a purchase not cash advance that would be helpful. I wouldn't mind the extra points and the cash.
Thanks

I also don't understand how you fund the account with a credit card. Did it give you guys an option to do so when you signed up? I couldn't find anything about it online and when I asked a CSR I was told that it would be a cash advance. If not I'll have to fund another way because I'm currently out of the country. |

Just use the transfer from another bank. You'll make a few cents on the trial deposits (and not worry about getting socked with a cash advance fee). |

You should get it as separate snail mail letter - usually a day before before you receive your card. (It's in one of those envelopes you need to tear the sides off )

I wouldn't waste you time on this offer, I did the $75 bonus offer, kept emailing them to find out where my bonus was. They refuse to honor it. I opened the account with $100 deposit via PayPal, even setup direct deposit which wasn't required. They claim oh I'm sorry we have no record of that promotion! What a crock, not to mention they charged me $2.00 eveytime I used someone else's ATM, no other banks I use charge this stupid fee IN ADDITION to the bank's ATM machine I used (that I can understand). Check out their response:
Thank you for your inquiry dated 6/10/07 regarding promotional incentive. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and we will be happy to assist you.
Upon further review, our records indicate that your account does not meet our eligibility for the promotion in question due to the following reasons:
- We were unable to locate a promotion code similar to the one mentioned in the e-mail. - There was no minimum initial deposit of $25.00 upon opening the account.
We value you as a customer and appreciate your business. If we may be of further assistance, please contact us again by e-mail. Thank you for choosing Bank of America.
Sincerely,
D. Terborg Bank of America I told them if they aren't going to honor their promotion I will be closing my account and reporting their bait and switch "promotions" to the state. |

I signed up to open an account and used a Chase card to fund it. The card has been charged, but I haven't gotten any info yet on how to access the account. Status on other FatWalleteers? |

Does BOA actually report the bonus dollars on the 1099? That'd make this much less attractive (about 45% less attractive, given that's the marginal tax rate for me and most people..) |

Your thinking of a 1099-MISC which is manditory for payments for services over $600. For 1099-INT, the minimum, I think, is $10. |

I didn't get the PIN after 4-5 days of getting ATM card either. So I went to a branch today for setting up the PIN. The teller told me that this account will have monthly fee except direct deposit. However, she set up my account somehow so that the fee is deferred for 5 years. I'm still waiting for $100. Now it is week 3 after applying. |

Yes, in fact to me it seems the best way, you don't have to worry about possible cash advance fees on a CC. I opened one of these in April, did online transfer from another BofA chkg acct, and had the $100 within 3 weeks. |
