One of my local credit unions ran a similar promotion. Kind of stinks that they always report on the 1099-INT though. Free money is free money I guess. Thanks.

will this offer work if money is already being direct deposited to account? I will speak to someone at chase and update later today.

the offer seems kind of confusing. is chase offering to deposit $50 for everyone who does direct deposit?

I don't know, I wouldn't ask around too much since this was sent specifically to me in the mail. I didn't set up another DD, just went to the website and entered the code. I did it about a month ago. No bonus, yet, but I imagine it will come in July.

there is no request for your account number or a refernce to the promo code in the sending process

how do they match up the bonus request to you account by name?

They asked for complete name, zip code and promo code when I click on the link. This is for an existing checking account. Seems like they can match it up without an account number. Frankly, if they asked for an account number, I might be nervous that it was a phishing scam. I don't know...maybe it will only work for me...

I hope it works but ever Jim Smith, Wilson or Sue Brown in a big metro area will get a credit if just one person in that area signs up and they normally get dd anyway - a better way to do it and only way in my mind would be to forward the request onine to your online sign-in and then opt in there

hope it works but seems like a big task of matching on Chase's end

It does seem odd... maybe they only sent this letter to me to see if I posted it on fatwallet...

I received this letter in the mail 3 weeks ago.I already had an account with Direct Deposit.I didn't understand why i received this promo as well.

msnut1,

Did your promo have the same info as op linked?

thanks op!

I tried. Lets hope it works. Min. effort on my part since I had DD already in my chase account. But I wonder how reliable chase will be in matching names and zip to accounts.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens. Almost seems too easy. Why would they send out a letter like that if I already had direct deposit?

msnut1, did you receive the same Code as Libero?

My BF got a same letter, but different CODE. I think different people will get their particular CODE!

Anyone have an updated code for this?

I believe different people getting a particular CODE, my BF got a Code:BHITS, and my sister got a CODE:BIGFE.

Maybe I'll get all the bonuses for people entering my code... or maybe nothing at all... I still have not seen the bonus yet.

I went to that site and entered the codes, but I get redirected to a Not Found error page... anyone else?

I had to do a double-take when i saw DD in the title. I associate DD with "Due Diligence"..not "Direct Deposit"
