man, that 30K on the Bank Atlantic card is sweet! 15 months 0% on a business line that nobody knew existed? That's worth the price of admission to your thread right there! |

(Also: congrats on the overall new CL.) When they make you explicitly break it out I split it into w2 and HHI. (71 & 375) I gues I couldve just put it at 375 & 375. thanks for the feedback. |

Note of importance on these guys, they limit you to just under 20K per BT. No good reason, just essentially, 'that's what we do' -- Can you waive the second fee? We could send to corporate for approval..... Personally I bit the bullet to try to remain under radar, i didnt push the issue, can't lose this one, just worth too much. |

I'm waiting for my $25K card to arrive and will see they'll tell me the same thing. Do they have BT checks or ACH to checking as well as standard balance transfers? |

Thanks for the heads up. I'm waiting for my $25K card to arrive and will see they'll tell me the same thing. Do they have BT checks or ACH to checking as well as standard balance transfers? No check with card, didnt ask for ACH. I went with the straight forward approach to a billpay card. Call in and transfer to a card with a balance. Too much unknown on a realtively unknown issuer. No games on this one, get it done. |

kherty - when you did the M&T Biz app - did you have to enter your EIN? When I did my AOR - it wouldn't let me through the app w/o EIN, I tried again today, it's still doing it. I'm thinking about submitting it with all zeroes - just to see if anything will happen with them... How did you get yours through? |

FWIW, behind the scene this kicked in a 'cant find this business' error. (address error) so credit didnt get pulled. When I called to f/u on 6/25, they asked for clarification, I said I was a sole prop and was good to go, they pulled that day (6/25) even with all the inqs showing they approved. |

Updated OP and added to do in it.... Note national City card activation hassle. 17 of 20 cards received. BT's starting to be in process...... To do: Principal Infibank transfer Citi prof -- try reallocation, then xfers within 12 months -- probably do this one first, pay off and try reallocate to drivers edge in 11 months. Do BT's in $1500 chunks to get $5 per transfer. citi drivers edge, see above, use for grocery etc first year. Pay down providian card to 89% BT Travelocity Juniper barclay card (confirm I can use the BT check that came with card) so that I get 10000 points which at 40K point level is $200. More than cancels $50 BT fee. Both National City cards give 60 days to transfer and get 6 billing cycles (can this be maximized by transferring right after first cycle close?) M&T need to do 99% transfer Received RBS welcome kit with BT checks, probably will deposit a modest amount 50% of crappy limit for the tiny profit. Need to do after tax check to see if its even worth it. Wachovia, call to do transfer, try to get them to commit to larger line with larger transfer First place bank, elan card -- transfer 49% (no fee) Sony card, try reallocation and transfer Make purchase on Schwaber, get $50 |

OK, this is going to take a lot of pride swallowing to do, but I'm going to document adverse action. I took it up the arse pretty good the last few weeks. These events in chronological order, but not dated as I dont remember. 1) First was an AMEX FR, a few days after my last post. I thought long and hard about it and refused to send them the unabated look at my taxes. I took the advice in This amex FR thread quick summary I requested closure. I had done 48K in BTs, paid them off with the chase card for one big transfer and submitted another 24K. The FR kicked in a day or 2 after the 24K submission on the IN chicago card. I thought long and hard about it, explained the majority of my income increase occurred this year and wouldnt show on my filing. They said to submit the 4506T and copies of sales reports. I agreed, but slept on it, and said F it. IT's not worth it and asked them to close them. After I closed them I faxed them a long letter and documentation of income and assets that would easily document he income. They were all about the 4506T. The transfer did get approved and went through shortly after account closure. I will at least try to reopen blue cash for rewards. 2) FIA called me pissed off. Pissed how I was using billpay and pissed at 13 inquiries (edit: 13 new accounts, not inquiries) they saw. Here is one excerpt of the conversation.... 'you had $423 in debt a couple months ago, now you have 85K' another one in response to cmon I'm a good customer plea 'all of our customers start out good. they dont start out going bankrupt' --- call back in 6 months when you've closed accounts and paid balances off. I spelled out clear as day what I was doing ---- result: Closed all 8 personal cards.
3) Letter out of blue (a few days ago) --- Bank of America Biz card closing your biz account due to adverse action on FIA personal lines. 4) Really took it up arse today. I caught a real bad break on a 3 rebate checks that have been inexplicably labeled fraud by rebate company and were returned unpaid. One said refer to item, one said signature missing, one said altered item. I have been trying to get a hold of someone helpful at the rebate company to resolve (all the idiots at the first and second tier state no stop payment has been requested). These were deposited with some smaller rebate checks that went through fine that were issued by the same place. Still trying to figure it out. Any way this caused (guess who?) BOA to investigate my account. Concurrently I was doing this .. .as a matter of fact I am probably the guy who fed the guy who PM'd MikeR the idea. They froze my funds and closed the accounts. 'Not comfortable with the activity.' NOw I wasnt doing this without precaution as I made sure I had well over a 90 day supply of money (actually half of the money) in 3 other locations. As long as they all dont shut down I will be ok. BOA rep said funds would be on hold 24-48 hours and mailed out or if you go in branch you can pick up a cashiers check. There ... wasnt quite as fun as documenting the AOR itself. I took one for the team and documented it. It hurts to share failures.

kkerty89, let me be the first to sympathize. Major bummer(s). Since you're graciously sharing information, I'd like to get some more details: 1. Did AMEX say what prompted the FR? I got the impression it was when you paid off the IN:Chicago and requested an additional BT. I was planning on doing the same thing with my IN:NYC with 49% utilization (in order to keep it from reporting), but now I'm less sure. 2. What was you approximate global utilization when FIA called and shut down your accounts? Did you make any purchases with your Billpay cards in addition to the BP activity? Thanks. |

Many thanks for sharing kkerty89, really sorry for your trouble. kkerty89 said:FIA called me pissed off. Pissed how I was using billpayCould you elaborate on the billpay point? What precisely did they say, and just what were you doing? I'm trying to monitor whether billpay usage alone is going to start drawing this scrutiny. |

Thanks for sharing the adverse events. I suspect many of us learn more from the adverse events than we do from the hundreds of success stories. Your honesty and willingness to share are appreciated. I sincerely hope that 1.) you have a contingency plan (it sounds like you do) 2.) that this causes you only minimal if any financial distress. At the end of the day, as long as you keep your wits about you and take your (hopefully minimal) lumps, this will be just a blip on your financial journey. Probably a lesson for us all in here - it can happen to anyone, and it isn't always just about simple utilization percentages. Best of luck. |
