Nice! Has anyone else received an email from SBoT with a subject line of "Even More Rewards" that contains the email address of every person with a Hometown Rewards Checking account? So much for SBot respecting the privacy of my email address. |

No doubt that was intended to be bcc'd to everybody. Just be thankful you did not receive 200 reply to all messages chewing them out for making the mistake. |

Funny, I thought there'd be more Hometown Reward Checking accountholders than those in the distribution list. Perhaps not everyone was included. If you value your privacy, this is a good reminder to set up an e-mail account for stuff like this, in case things go awry. I probably wouldn't use my FWF user name for my e-mail name, either. |

I value my privacy. Does that mean I should use an E-mail address that ties to my FW name, or to my Real name? Or just a random name? |

Probably the latter, although I'd say "different" rather than "random." Look at it this way: Would you mind FW users sending you e-mails if a slip-up occurred like this one? The answer to that question would tell you which way to go. |

Since I have gmail, it went into my spam folder. Did anyone get in touch with them to teach them a lesson about bcc? |

They don't actually understand the concern. Its not just that email addresses may be sold, but that some people use their banking e-mail address as their username, if not at SBoT than at other banks. That compromises 1/2 the log on security process for a lot of people. |

Down to 3.01%. With what happened last week, this may be the last straw. |

Bah, Scott. I am getting over 6% at MidWest and 6% at Charter. 4% is for suckers.I think you can still get over 5% in Texas on up to 100k though. |

I did like the $70k cap on this account though. I have 4 $50k 4.5% accounts that I've been using, but even at 6 or 7%, I can't bring myself to do all the purchases/donations on a $25k balance. Maybe if I was on summer break and not in law school I'd be less lazy in this regard. |

You're in the wrong thread, Scott. You can suggest in the stock thread that people earn money in their checking accounts, but even then, I'd say you are better off with a guaranteed 5% than 4% by banking in Texas. And, Mike, that goes nearly double for you. Their cap in Texas is 100,000 and they pay nearly double SbOT. ETA: Sorry folks. Branch visit required. Dumb Texas. |
