But again, if it's any condolence, your experience did inspire me to drop my util on my BofA card to a lower level. If that keeps my credit lines alive, then that would make you the "red shirt" in a Star Trek episode who beams down to a planet only to get eaten by a bear, so that William Shatner can be the hero.

I salute you, Mr. Red Shirt Man.

(and if it doesn't work, I'll be joining you in a couple months!)

I'm reading this old thread and glad I did mark-- just for your analogy. I love it! The term I've been using is so anachronistic-- "canary in the coal mine"

I'm switching to Red Shirt

Hey Mark, did you ever figure out if your shirt is red also?

NatCityBiz extended from 1/16 to 3/4. I have called twice to ask when the payment is due, both times I was told 1/16. On 1/16 an hour before the payment deadline I called again asking when is the payment due. Guy on the phone told me that ordinarily it should be due on 1/17 but that because I'm a valued customer they want me to give a full month (whatever that menas) and it will be due on a regular due date in March. I asked why not in February, he couldn't explain he said 3/4 and that's what I'm sticking with. We'll see when the statement comes.

M&T - I contacted them through online customer service and I was told the due date is 3/28 (should have been more like 12/28). I printed out the response and also pdf-ed it. And that's the date I'm going with

I called WellsFargo on my due date trying to extend - no such luck. In the above examples I didn't actually ask for extensions.

markkundinger said:Jairocon, are you monitoring scores, do you know how paying down those 6mo scores is affecting your profile? They haven't changed much - these payments have not been all updated with CRBs yet. The scores on TrueCredit are: tu736 ex700 eq738. (I have 1 inq on TU, 11 on Exp, 0 on Eq).

I had to pay off my NatCity personal 6 mo BT today. I called and asked for extension - they wouldn't extend. However, I was offered a 2.99% 6mo no fee BT. The offer is noted on my account and is good for 30 days, so I'll wait for the statement date to get $0 balance reported and then I'll take the new BT. They wouldn't just simply roll this 0% over into 2.99%

On the negative side - looking over my credit reports today, I see that Juniper has closed my National Park Foundation card ( It's a $20k line - no idea why they waited 6 months past AOR to shut it down, especially since my balances have only decreased since. I didn't get anything in mail yet, and I don't really care to call them at this point. I should have just transferred the CL to BankAtlantic in the beginning - but who knew...

I have yet to call BofA Biz about their finance charges - will do that this week.

M&T reported $0 finance charges on the statement - so it looks like I'm in the clear for a 9 mo BT instead of the original 6 mo. We'll see on the next statement

Otherwise nothing exciting happening. Scores are 736/700/738 tu/ex/eq - no new lines added, no CLIs requested, no reallocations. Just a boring mid-AOR time.
