I heard an ad on the radio the other day for a promotion at National 1st Credit Union, people living or working in Santa Clara County, California are elegible to join. They are celebrating the opening of their new Almaden branch and for a limited time are offering 10-month Certificate of Deposits paying 10% APY.
I haven't gone to the credit union in person yet, and their website doesn't say anything about this promotion. But I swear I heard it in an ad on the radio. I just moved to the area, so I was very interested in it, and thought some of you might be as well.

Yeah, it's true. They sent me a flyer. It's 10% for 10 months and for a $1000 CD.
If we consider a typical CD at 6% APY, this one basically gives an additional 4%. 4% for 10 months at $1000 works out to be $33 bonus before tax. Not sure if many will jump over it since it requires a physical visit.

I don't see any deals, but that's the website, anyway.

I didn't realize it was only good for a $1000 CD, they probably didn't say that on the radio advertisement. I was going to open a CD but if you can't do more than $1000, its not that great of a deal.
Thanks for the clarification.
