This shouldn't be a problem, I'd be happy for it ti work that way, the checking account comes with 50 free checks. Into the local BoA HYS it will go.

Edit: Citibank only gave me 50 free chex, not 500.

Citibank has an option to tranfer money online to another Citibank acct holder. DOESN'T WORK.

Funny works fine for me. I transfer money from my account over to my GF account all the time and it shows up in her account with in 2 secs.

They have the option of doing one day transfer into accounts. DOESN'T WORK if you have less than $500 in the acct. Btw you are using Citibank Global Transfers service to make the transfer and not mickey mousing an ACH transfer to an account you dont own.

They have an option of doing a one day transfer to an external account. DOESN'T WORK unless you've made a transfer exceeding $1000 from the external acct into Citibank exceeding a 20 day grace period.

I dont know I do ACH transfers from my Citi accounts into USAA account 1X ever 6 months always next day never had an issue at all. So the type of account you have with Citi might make the difference. Ie maybe everythings counts account do not have the restriction you are talking about but E-Z Checking accounts do.

They have the option of transfering to another Citibank acct holder at ATM's. Doesn't work if funds haven't been in the account for longer than 3 working days, even if you deposited CASH.

Again I think the fact you get holds on deposit is not the norm as many people have reported they deposit money(Checks/Cash) in to there checking accounts via ATM or tellers then move the money into there savings account right away without any problems. So there must be a reason why you are getting holds on cash deposits while others get like my self get instant credit on check deposits.

Here's the message I get when trying to transfer to another CITIBANK Acct:
(you might want to check it out, I don't think it's working anymore)

Transfer to a Citibank Client in the U.S.

We’re sorry, but this service has been suspended on Citibank’s websites.

If you need to transfer funds to a Citibank client in the U.S., please visit your nearest Citibank Financial Center or Citibank ATM.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

anyone had any luck using the online form to BT to your checking accounts?

alert mods

I am able to transfer to BOFA checking account.

alert mods

I was denied for transfer to Electric Orange, USAA and BoA. I just gave up and ordered a check.

For me at least, it seems that the form only accepts 16-digit account numbers (and/or 15-digit?), designed for credit cards. It is missing the bank account transfer ability (account and routing numbers), even though the offer claims I can put money in my bank account.

Pulled balance transfers in my Personal & Business card account last week...only offered option of mailed check.

Pulled balance transfers today on my wife's Professional and AT&T cards and was offered the direct deposit to a checking account offer. Seemed to take a Navy Federal account fine...will post an update once it successfully goes through...

can you do multiple credit balance refund checks on the same card, as each BT comes in? like on a monday do a $5k credit refund from a BT that comes in and puts the card at a negative balance, then on thursday another BT comes in to the same card, and do another credit refund, or will that throw flags with citi?

The only way I avoided an error was a transfer to my Citibank checking account. Playing around a bit, I think the system is picky about how you enter the account number. For example, it worked for my Citibank checking account only when I entered the 10 digits on my check, but not when I entered the 9 digits that show on my account statement (which drops a leading 0). It does seem to need to be a checking account as it did not work for my e-Savings accounts with either 9 or 10 digits. Assuming that it will only work for accounts registered for payment (as has previously been mentioned), it may be requiring that the account be entered exactly the way it was when registered, but I don't remember how I registered my accounts.

nice. just did one from my citi business to my usbank checking account. didn't like ing though, which i thought was strange.

alert mods

It has accepted transfers to my Presidential checking account. It rejected every other account I tried -- including my Citibank checking account.

alert mods

Rejected for USAA, Emigrant, Fidelity, Citizens Bank, Citibank ultimate savings, Citibank regular checking. I don't think it likes me.

alert mods

Put your accepted/rejected in the quick summary. If you want, put your username in parentheses if the same bank you're reporting worked differently for someone else, to help figure out why it works for some and not for others (like BofA).

Just tried to use this form, was denied for both GMAC Bank and HSBC. However, my local CU went through just fine. I have all 3 accounts linked for paying to the CC, so that's not the issue. Hopefully more ABA/routing numbers will be added soon.

Updated Quick Summary to reflect GMAC, HSBC denials.

I had no issue snding to citizens bank, was in my account in 24hrs did 14k.
I am going to do 10k in a couple days.

alert mods

Rejected for USAA, Fidelity, and Patelco. I'm out.

I'm going to take advantage of this BT offer. What percentage of the credit limit is safe for the FICO? I've seen 90%, 50%, and 30% in various places. If there is a hit on the FICO, how quickly does it rebound after the BT is repaid?

alert mods

Looks like the form takes ING Electric Orange now. Just did a BT to my account from a Business card as of last night and this time it accepted my account and routing number.

alert mods

No for FNBO, HSBC
