Denied: BofA (Nummerkins), Chase checking, Citibank checking/savings, Citizens Bank (Ted2002), Emigrant, Fidelity, GMAC Bank, HSBC, ING checking/savings, Patelco, USAA, WAMU Savings
You probably don't see posts about this because people are focusing on how to BT when you don't have a Citi card that can transfer directly to checking.
Green for you....something new...could folks post how long it takes with this option....

oh i see it now. definitely new. is this option available on all cards? what about business cards?
This option has been around for every Citi card I have had for at least the last two years. It has been mentioned in a couple of tangential threads, but didn't have it's own. Until today.
I think this is new. When I did a BT in January, I asked if I could it have it put directly into my account and the rep said checks were the only option.

I'm not doubting that you weren't able to do it since I've never done it but reps don't know anything about the online world. That is a whole 'nother ball game.
It is def. new for me...have done many citi bt's in the past and just went online to request a bt and see it for the first time for one of my personal accounts....To be clear, what I see is that you can request money in your own name by 1) having a check sent (old) or 2) directly depositing into your bank account (requests account number and routing)....OP could have added a few more details in his post...

some of their business cards have no fee BT's, dunno about any personal cards

I haven't had that option in two years that I had numerous Citi cards... Did my last balance transfer 3 months ago.

In 2005 I did a BT to my checking account but I bank with Citi too so not sure if that makes a difference and my Citi credit cards are linked to my Citi checking account for fee waivers too as the card I did a BT from was PPE. I always do my BT over the phone or just deposit a check in to my checking account. So I think the only new thing is maybe Citi is allowing you to deposit in to any checking account any bank online which they might not have allowed before.
OK, made me look. I don't see any changes to my BT page. Could someone be so kind as to point to where this option is?

Yes, there are boatloads of 0% no fee BTs from Citi. The rumors of their demise has been greatly exaggerated.
ahh...it is linked right with the option to rec. a check mailed to you......go through the process of requesting a BT online and it will become clear (have to click accept through several screens)....edit, the option is on my CitiBiz cards as well...
OK this time I went and looked at a card that doesn't have a 0% no fee BT and there it was. Most definitely new, but I wonder why it's there for one account and not the other. Thx MB.
So odd, I've had the ACH option on all BT offers thru various Citi cards since at least '05. I only assumed it was common knowledge and practice.
It might be cheaper for them than the check option. Moreover, it's faster and makes me happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I'm glad I read your post because all I knew was that fee for BT on my Premier Pass Elite card had been hiked up to $200. I checked my account again and there it was - a BT offer for 12 months and no fee!
Transfer to bank account didn't work though. I kept getting an error so I opted to receive a check by mail instead.
What about credit balances? Can they be transfered via ACH?
