Not so fast, you might want to check out this little Chase Gem Chase Freedom MC 12 month 0% max $75 BT fee

ok I received the Bank Atlantic Business rewards card today w/ $15000 credit limit. Activated it. Called CSR, they will not BT to a checking account or send BT checks. They will send convenience checks but they will be at the cash advance rate. So I will have to BT it to one of my Citi cards when they come in and do a credit refund.

Also received the Chase Sony Card w/ $6000 limit. Activated it. Will make a small purchase and then pay it off, and then transfer my credit limits to it and deposit the BT check that came in the welcome package.

Also received the Kroger 1-2-3 Rewards card w/ $12500 limit. Activated it, then called a CSR. CSR Said they can't BT to a checking account, but that a few days after card activation I will receive a welcome package and it will have a 0% BT check in it, and the CSR said I can make it out to myself and deposit into my checking account and it will be at the 0% BT rate.

Why do people always miss this with the sony card? It's 0% on purchases too, so go ahead and make the token purchase and the BT at the same time.

You're spot on on the limitations on the Bank Atlantic card.

I got my RBS checks about 4 days after I got the card itself.

Oh yeah I forgot about the 0% on purchases. This morning I bought a few bucks in gas for the purchase requirement.

I just got off the phone w/ Chase. Moved $14600 from my oldest card to the Sony Style, and closed my freedom card and moved the $1100 (they will let you move everything except $500 when consolidating cards) on it to the Sony Style card. Because of the large amount, the CSR said they'd have to do a hard pull. New credit limit according to the CSR is $21,700 on the Sony Style Card, and that is also showing up at chase.com after I log in. About to go to my local bank and deposit the 0% BT check into my checking account.

alert mods

successfully deposited $10500 Sony Style BT check into my local bank's checking account. They put a hold on it. $5600 available on 8/14, the rest on 8/17. then i'll put it in FNBO.

Juniper I Fly Rewards card came in with my $12500 limit. Welcome package w/ the card has one convenience check. Called and spoke w/ a CSR who confirmed if I write it out to myself and deposit, it will be at the 0% BT rate. Will make it out for $6000 and go back to the bank today.

alert mods

Deposited $6k check from Juniper. Same deal, local bank put a hold on it, $100 tomorrow, $4900 on the 14th, and $1k on the 17th.

Dude, those local banks are killing you with the holds. I got snared by one of those on my first AOR. Generally, now, I do one of two methods:

1) Ideally, deposit immediately into something that will yield interest/dividends (Either local Fidelity branch, or a Citibank money market). That way, even if I have to wait out a hold, at least I'm earning something.

2) If not, I worked out that it's probably more cost effective (and less aggravating) to just mail a check to the ultimate destination (FNBO or whoever). Even factoring in the lag for mail and the cost of the stamp.

... course the one caveat is I don't know how FNBO (specifically) would react to credit card checks. They might think you're a terrorist or something.

Interesting, Chase (where I have my checking account) used to put on hold every large deposit (be it check or transfer from HYS). This was happening even after 6-7 years of banking with them. In my latest AOR however and from then on (8th year of banking with Chase) there are no holds, not even for personal checks over $20K (knock on wood). In my mind, if holds are a problem, it pays to go and discuss it with the branch manager.

I know, I know. But I live in Jackson, Mississippi. There are no Chase or Citi branches here. We just got a couple of wachovia branches here and thats only because they bought out one of the local banks. And we have some Regions (large regional bank) because they bought out a different small bank company. The market here is served by many small bank firms.

It is easier to get no holds at smaller and reginal banks over larger mega banks. I used to have back in late 80's business banks accounts with smaller 2 branch in West LA just for that reason. The bank manager would bend over back Wards for me as he considered my accounts very large accounts which by mega bank stanards they are not. Back in the 80's the big player in LA were Bank of America, Cal Fed, Wells Fargo and Wamu.

At small banks the manager has total power over your account vs at reginal and mega banks the bank manager have very limited powers and they need to justify there actions to coperate which small bank managers do not have too.

BOA Platinum plus MC is showing up with $5k limit on bankofamerica.com login, and so is the NFL card w/ $2500 limit. I got the Iowa card from another thread for the $250 sign up bonus, and $3500 limit on the Bass Pro card. I'll see if I can consolidate the NFL card to the Platinum Plus card, and move most of the credit limit from the iowa card and Bass Pro cards to the platinum plus card as well. waiting for receipt of the cards first.

You don't need to wait to reallocate.
I applied for the BOA Platinum MC on the same day as you on 7/31. I got $8K CL on mine, I called in on 8/3 and reallocated my other BOA card and created a $36K CL, BT'ed $32K to my BOA checking. balance showed up on my checking yesterday, same day I got the card in the mail!

Got the US Bank Baylor Visa w/ 15k limit, called CSR, they won't send BT checks or BT to checking, will only BT to other credit cards. So I will BT to a Citi card and do a refund.

Also got Citi Professional.

Also got Discover Miles card w/ $8000 credit limit. Called CSR and they are mailing out BT checks. I confirmed w/ CSR if I write it to myself and deposit it in checking, it will be at the 0% BT rate.

2 Citi Business cards came in today, w/ 6k and 8k limits. letter from national city saying they can't verify my information????

alert mods

BT'd $7400 from Baylor Alumni US Bank Visa to Citibank AT&T Universal Card. US Bank mails them a physical check, so I hope it posts w/ citi since its a physical check and not an electronic deposit, and my balance is $0 w/ AT&T. i guess i'll know in a week or so. Also called National City about the letter they sent me saying they couldn't verify my info. Rep said that when you apply for a lot of credit at once, their system flags it and they just want to speak to you to verify your identity before mailing out the card.

alert mods

Kroger Welcome package came today w/ 0% BT check. have a $12500 limit so will deposit it for $6100.

alert mods
