They have a horrible reputation and there are hundreds of posts online concerning their reliabilty and honesty on rebates. Be careful with them......the hassle factor could outweigh the benefit.Other than the (possible) hassle of getting the $100 GC, there's no problem with using it to get free stuff out of Tiger, so who cares about rebates? |

Sounds like as other stated, this is a $125 a year fee card, so after I get the benefits fully, it sounds like this is one I should cancel. That sound right? This is a no pre-set spending limit card, so there is no 'credit limit'. Others have stated that it might be converted to a no fee card before the year is up. To add on my experience, I was also sent out promo materials which talked about 5k pts instead of 25k. However, I asked the CSR activating my card and she said that it indeed was 25k points credited after the first purchase. I was also sent out the card via UPS Next Day Air Saver. Applied 8/9 (near midnight), got the card 8/13. |

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like I can maybe hold onto it for most of the next year and monitor wheather or not they convert it into a no fee card? |

Cr@p! Got the computer system error as well. Tried using different computers and browsers - always the same error. Called and got my application approved instantly. Confirmed the 25K points offer as well. Now, what happens to the $100 TigerDirect GC? Although I followed the instructions on TD's page (by filling in their form and clicking <Apply Now>, do I stand any chance of getting the GC - considering that I wasn't able to successfully submit my application and had to do it over the phone? |

If I already have a membership rewards acct and I apply for the card in my wife's name only can I link it to my account for a $10 fee. If not, will I be able to consolidate membership reward points from her and my accounts at a later date. |

If you have other AMEX Rewards cards, they will automatically link them together so all your rewards points fall into one bucket(consolidate to one account)..I just called them to cancel that automatic linkage and i will get back my $10 soon. By the way its once a year fee... |

DroolingPhantom said:I had to call AMEX to verify some information like my business name and business number. My business name was my actual name ("sole proprietorship") but they didn't ask about my number, unless if they can tell I called from it. They asked me if my "business" was registered with the state and said no, so they had to pull up one of my bank accounts to do some verification. It became a three-way phone call with AMEX and HSBC on the line. In the end, I finally got approved. I applied yday and today I checked my status:
COMPANY EXISTS VERIFICATION <-- this is highlighted in blue... oops I am scared to make the phone call. What kind of verification they have to do with your bank? Of crs, I am like most of the others - just here for the points

Read the terms of the offer. It should answer your question What's stated in the terms of an offer and what actually happens are often 2 very different things. I think the question was originally asked to see if anyone had personal experience. |

Called AMEX and they said I need to have a "real company name" which they will verify that with my bank. They won't approve my application without doing that... So do I really need to setup a business checking so they can approve? The rep said if I can set that up within 60 days and call back, they can still approve my application. Desperately need some advice. Thank you! |
