Well, I just applied, and I hope that I'm as lucky as you. I got the "we'll get back to you in 30 days" response. My previous Sony card still shows up in my online banking with Chase even though I closed it about a month ago. I hope that they don't notice.
I got the same message. Have you received your new Sony card? If yes, how long does it take?

Is there a way to check the status as to whether it is approved and what the credit limit is before you receive the card?

TIA

If you already have Chase accounts & online banking, the newly approved card may show up there within a week of the positive decision. Last time that's what happened with my Sony card. It's probably a simpler and quicker way just to call the number Glitch99 pointed out, though.

pupak said:Thanks OP! The offer also includes a 12 month 0% BT with $75 max fee. Good deal, just added it to my AOR list.

Balance Transfer APR: A 0% fixed APR for the first 12 billing cycles following the opening of your account.
Transaction fee: 3% of the amount of each transaction, but not less than $5.00 nor more than $75.00.

I applied for the card, and received it today. The mailing include the Card/Visa Agreements and a summary of benefits. But there is no mention of 0% Balance Transfer; nor does it mention the $100 credit after 1st purchase. Did anyone else who applied for this card last week received her/his card and have the 0% Balance Transfer? Or does that mailing on 0% BT and $100 credit comes in a separate mailing?

TIA

Same thing for me.. Really shocking.. I paid T-Mobile 2 days ago and today the $100 bonus showed even before the purchase posting to the account. The purchase posted online later in the afternoon.

They gave me mine before my first purchase. I haven't even received the card yet, but my chase online page shows the account at $-100.00. I've been watching it for a few days while waiting for the card, and it was at $0.00 yesterday.

Looks like I got approved for my 3rd Sony card, at least that's what automated system says. Got some CL taken from the previous one, so likely no net gain there. We'll see about the bonus balance.

naas> how long before you received the card were you able to see the account online?

Can't answer since I still don't have the card yet

I applied 8 days ago, and I think the card has shown for at least 3 days, maybe 5. Maybe 2, I haven't really been keeping track since there's nothing I can do about it either way.

(edit: misunderstood the question at first)

Got my Sony to show up online. But the CL is only $1k - and it should be $10k per phone system. I wonder if it will get fixed.

how long after you cancel an account should you try to sign up for the same account again?
for any credit card, not just this sony one.
has anyone done this?
thanks for your help

Anybody here know if the $100 credit is still valid? The terms states that application must be opened by 11/30/07 but the offer page is still up. There seem to be two offers (links) of the same deal:

http://sonycard.sony.com/sonygateway/Gateway.aspx?offerLink=SonyRewardsBtS2007
http://sonycard.sony.com/sonygateway/Gateway.aspx?offerLink=HDNA2007

Both are $100 credit.

Amazing! I haven't even received the card yet, and it only showed with my other Chase accounts the end of last week, but today there's a $100 credit on the card! Thank you, OP, and thank you even more, Chase!

This is officially the fastest promotional credit I've received. Will still make a purchase once I get the card so that they can't take the bonus away for failure to comply with the terms.

gpagerry said:If you wait until the account is opened, there is a 90 day restriction to "direct deposit funds into a checking account." But, the way around that is as mentioned in a previous post, to use the check that comes with the card itself. Chase said to make sure that the check is made payable to a person or bank, but NOT to CASH. For some reason, it could be categorized under cash advance as per the rep.
Has anyone who received their New card recently get the Welcome check? I didn't get the Welcome check with my card.

And does the Welcome actually come with the card? Or come in a separate mailing?

TIA

Why not call them up (since you have to activate anyways) and request BT checks with promo rate sent to you? Also, depending on the amount, you can simply overpay another existing CC account and request a credit balance refund - there's an entire thread discussing ways of getting money from cards that don't allow BT to checking. Of course, if you can get an existing card that does offer BT to checking to give you fee-free BT offer, you can do that, then pay off with Sony card BT online/phone.
