I called Citi on Thursday and today the Professional Line was returned to 10K. I explained the situation to the original CSR rep and asked to put a note in the account that all balances will be paid back by 9-15-08 (end of the 0%). I did receive a written letter on the Diamond line that it was reduced because of "high debts to other creditors." I still have not received written notification on the Professional card above (11 days after the statement closed) which I think is a sneaky way to get me to go over my new lowered line (I found out that the line had been lowered by accident and had 61.00 of available credit). They did nto require any proof of assets or anything, just a phone call (rats, I should have got another 5K in TYP for my inconvience) I am still going to take advantage of the drivers edge CL "buy back" for $550.00 My Citi diamond line and professional cash line has not been reinstated but she did put the request through for both of them (probably take another 48 hours) On a side note, I tried the BT Offer LUV button (used multiple times previously) on the professional cash (currently I have 67.5K balance, was going to rebump it to 69.3K to protect the line) and was denied with the red message to call. I guess when they lower lines they lock the BT offers. |

I just enrolled in the citi payment partner program (I have a seperate thread on it) after paying down my card to exactly $5584. I profusely thanked the CSR for the right to sell 6K worth of credit line for $550.00 after giving me 10K of 0% for one full year. Awesome, just awesome. |

Many things are happening now. I am paying back their 0% money... Sniff sniff, I hate to give it back but it is theirs and I can't move to Poland so the money has to be paid back. I have already paid back ~40K and just scheduled another 90K. The Citi Payment Partner program is rolling with the expected $550 in cash. My first real adverse action happened with my inactive AMEX being lowerred from 31k to .5K. I called and argued to no avail explaining what I was doing like my Citi. The resolution was to call back when the lines are paid back and they will reevaluate. I don't care about this BUT I was planning on switching my daily spender from Fidelity (1.5% CashBack) to the AMEX starwood card on my next AOR. I figured the points and spending and that card is the best deal above the countrywide 2% card. Considering we charge from 2K-6K a month I need a line that is ample. That being said BOA is awesome. I lowered my daily spender (fidelity) line to 14.2K and now 12 months later it has been CLI to 20.1K without asking and with a maxed out BT card at 38K. |

Almost paid. Down to the BOA card waiting to clear from the report and a 8.9K us bank card that is good until 1/09 (which I will pay off befor the statement closes to just have 100% clear. Bank Atlantic and Advanta are the other last to go. Another AOR 1.0 learning is to get in and out within a reasonable amount of time. IE don't drag out the AOR for a couple of cards. I did not figure the exact total but I think it cost me money as compared to the additional time of over 12 months. There has to be a break even time frame of where to pay it all back and just take the interest hit. All and all successful. |
