interesting... I smell class action lawsuit if they cancel a lot of accounts due to "Excessive Access", since they even advertise on their website "credit reports AND scores-quick and secure-everyday if you want"

Pretty interesting, first I have ever heard of something like this. Thanks for sharing. They should be forced to change their marketing of the product. I mean how can you claim daily pulls only to cancel it when you do that?
I've been doing mine since April too... wonder what to expect now.

Didn't they survey users about B* just a few months ago!

I dumped TrueCredit a few months ago and now use AMEX CS, I don't pull everyday anymore but will be interesting to see if they do the same to people who do daily pulls

"Excessive access to a member's credit report can indicate potential fraud or an attempt to tamper with the credit scoring system."
So, excessie access = daily access. This is an advertized feature. Are they saying that (1) they are selling a product that allows you to pull daily, and (2) they cut you off because you pulled daily? This is outright retarded. It's like advertizing a buffet and cutting you off after the first plate.
Potential fraud? Are they implying someone else is pulling your credit? Then all you need to do is authenticate your identity to their satisfaction, and fraud concerns should be addressed, right?
Tamper with the credit scoring system. This is a double-edged sword. Can they prove this? Suppose no - then this is a frivolous claim. Suppose they do prove this; I'd like to see them do this, because it is questionable whether a few b* off inquiries are going to materially change a file's score AFTER the new accounts show up. Even if they prove it, TrueCredit.com becomes the weapon used to tamper with credit scores. One would ask TrueCredit.com why they are providing a potentially fraudulent service, because anyone can now tamper with credit. I am not trying to blame the functionality of TrueCredit.com here - I like it and use it "excessively". I am just playing with their weak line of arguments here.
Isn't it possible that you may wind up with a split credit report from too much bumpage (split-tage)? Has anyone had this happen to them, recently?

Yes, it is possible. And yes, it has happened to many.
However, I smell a class action lawsuit if this becomes widespread. They advertise the service as such that you can pull every single day and if that isn't the case...

Yes, my EQ file was split about a month ago. I did nothing to "fix" it since my score jumped 70 points or so to the 790s. EQ was missing about 10 closed accounts, several inquiries, a couple of 0% cards w/ balances, and previous addresses, etc. Now all active accounts are back on file (happened one at a time) but still not old addresses or any inactive cards.
I also started using Credit Secure about the same time to try to get these new inquiries bumped.
I had been pulling previously (mostly) daily for almost a year. I have slowed down, but still pull 2-3 days a week and haven't gotten this email (yet). No TC email as of yet (fingers crossed). Guess I'll pull more Credit Secure for now.

This is interesting because I've been trying to get into Privacy Matters all day. I called the 800 number and spoke to a rep who told me they are having system problems. So I've waited 8 hours since that phone call and still can't get in. All I get is an error message that says "request can not be processed". Hmmm.....

maddybeagle said: I am sure they have some weasel wording in their contract that allows them to dump anybody that they want...] can you quote this wording you are claiming? Only wording I've found is that you need to provide accurate information during registration, not share your password with anyone, and not to impersonate other people:
"You agree to provide accurate information in your registration and not to share your password with third parties. You agree not to impersonate another person or to select or use a user name or password of another person. You agree to notify TrueCredit promptly of any unauthorized use of your account and of any loss, theft or disclosure of your password. Failure to comply with these requirements shall constitute a breach of these terms and conditions and shall constitute grounds for immediate termination of your account and your right to use the Site."
from the fine print, looks like they need to post notice of modification before modification takes effect..
"TrueCredit may (i) change the terms of this Agreement or the feature of the membership products, or (ii) change the Site, including eliminating or discontinuing any content or feature of the Site, restricting the hours of availability, or limiting the amount of use permitted, by posting notice of such modification on a page of the Site before the modification takes effect. All changes shall be effective immediately upon posting of such notice. If you use the Site and/or your membership after TrueCredit has notified you of a change in the Agreement you agree to be bound by all of the changes. You are expected to review the Site periodically to ensure familiarity with any posted notices of modification."
I've seen other mentions today of people getting these cancellation letters.
So far I haven't gotten one. I'm still only paying $7.46/month(old WalMart link) on the account I've had for 2 years. Lately I pull 3 or 4 times per week.
There is someone out there on the other end who knows what we are doing! This is ending up like the De11 deals on the HotDeals forum.

Bobby, there has to be a story behind the story. I know of several folks who have pulled DAILY for over a year without receiving a cancellation. As has been mentioned, this notice is in direct VIOLATION of TC's Terms of Use agreement. I'd contact their CSR folks and work your way up the chain of supervisors. Something is fishy here.........
But did your report get splitted for a while and then you just kept on pulling?? That might tip off TC .... "...can indicate potential fraud or an attempt to tamper with the credit scoring system."
I dont know, just guessing...

No story behind the story. I did a small (8 cards) AOR in January. Have seen no adverse action. Have well less than 50% utilization. Have never called or interacted with TC other than signup. No splitage or choppage.
I'll call them in the next few days and update.

Class action?
What exactly are your damages?
now image the best-case scenario... where TrueCredit bends over and admits fault.
I've been pulling everyday for nearly 6 months. No adverse actions here.

pulled for 4 months straight, at least 29 pulls every month.
no problems yet. I pull with chaseidentity, AMEX creditsecure and TrueCredit.
not really for b*. I'm just addicted. It's like checking my email.

Subscriptions to THREE services, elleve????? You've got STYLE and cash to burn.........
Question: After comparing them almost daily, do you have a preference??? I use TC primarily because there was more fragmentation of my reports on AMEX and no reporting dates..........

The easiest to read would definitely be TrueCredit.
The chase one is a clone of TrueCredit, except something's messed up with the inquiry dates (they aren't listed in order)
and AMEX's is all over the place. They list each credit agency separately for alot of my accounts.
Overall though, I'd say AMEX is the best one to suscribe to because TrueCredit advertisement is just effing annoying.

does bumpage work for eq anymore? i've pulled 30 reports every 2 days now and only a random few of the 30 eq soft pulls show up. i've read that you need to make 100 pulls, but for my eq account, since only 4 or 5 of out every 30 show up as soft pulls, it'll take me thousands of pulls to bump off one hard pull which is not worth it.

Only thing left on my report is EX so not going to help. If I were you I would be very worried about having your file split and chopped like coleslaw

Almost googled "Pull Anonymous" in search of yet another pull service.

Yup, sure looks like TC is cancelling subs. There are posts all over creditboards about it. I posted yesterday about not being able to get into Privacy Matters (same company, right?) and I still can't get in today. I'm sure I've been cancelled too.
Edit: Finally got in just now. So far, PM has not cancelled me.

I had the same problem but going to myprivacymatters.com instead of the bookmarked link I have I was able to get in. The format is different so once again they reworked the system without telling any subscribers and apparently have their csrs playing dumb about it.
The TC thing sucks and has to be the stupidest way to discourage bumpage. Daily pulls are excessive for a service offering daily pulls? If they want to change the service they need to do it across the board and be up-front about it in their terms.

what are you going to get?
a free month of True Credit.
There has to be damages for class action? What about NetFlix? There was a class action "alleging that NetFlix did not truly offer unlimited DVD rental as they claimed" due to throttling. Isn't this similar? TrueCredit offers unlimited credit pulls but cancels your account when you do so. Yeah, I guess if there is a suit, the settlement might just be a free month of True Credit.
I was annoyed at TC's requirement that it has to be once every 24 hours or more, and not every day... that was the reason I cancelled.... plus its slooooow to pull up the info, and impossible for me at home with dialup
I've been using AMEX CS and its quicker and I don't have to write down the time that I used it last, I can just check it once it a day! Plus it was cheaper! I didn't get in on the WalMart deal...
