When I logoff, I get an advertisement for a targeted credit card.
The offers we get when we logout: Is there any way to manipulate what offers we get? Does it help to log back in a number of times to get a different offer at random? Or is there anything we can do to our cookies to affect it?
Warning: YMMV! I received a snail mail letter about the same kind of "offer" but for August. It's a no brainer (normally use another card for all purchases) - but I have a feel this offers are targeted.

The fine print:
Offer not valid on a) ATM transactions; b) credits or other adjustments related to POS purchases, such as those for purchases that are cancelled or returned; c) purchases for cash-like items such as money orders, traveler’s cheques, foreign currency, cashier’s cheques, gaming chips, and other similar instruments and things of value; d) account funding transactions including transfers to open or fund deposit, escrow, or brokerage accounts and purchases of stored-value cards
2 When you use your Bank of America Visa Check card 10 times between September 1 and 30, 2007, your $10 Gift Card to The Home Depot® will be mailed to you within eight weeks of September 30, 2007 from an independent fulfillment center. No minimum purchase amount required. Offer limited to one reward per account.
Is this the same as using my card as debit card, and won't I incurr fees for doing that? Otherwise I'd just make ten $1 purchases at a gas pump and wait for my GC.

Same exact terms except make purchases between August 1 and August 31, 2007. Just saying the offer is targeted and not available to everyone.

I guess things like this is a good reason to hit the Logout button instead of just closing the browser window...

Just got mine yesterday. I did ten $0.01 purchases on my debit card (through PayPal to my eBay account) to qualify.

Hi never got it. Called BOA, got the run around and another number to call. Got the runaround there and was told to call BOA.
Call the Checkcard Promotions dept @ 877-437-8196. They can lookup your account over the phone and tell you when the giftcard is coming. It's usually 8-12 weeks after meeting eligibility.
The regular CSRs have no idea how the checkcard promos work or that they even exist. My regular CSR was pretty good and actually listened and asked questions as the checkcard CSR explained the program in detail on our conferenced call.

I just called and they had no record of it so she said she'd "look into it". Didn't ask for my phone number so I had to give it to her. Yeah I'm sure I'll be hearing from her soon. Am I really going to have to send in proof that I made these purchases?

Anybody got your home depot $10 gift card? I will probably never trust BOA promotion from now on!

OK so I put my second call into the promotions number given above (877-437-8196). This time I got a woman that was much more helpful and took the time to look up my information. She put in a written request and I was told I would receive my card or a phone call within two weeks, otherwise to call back. We shall see!

Well, I didn't get the card but BOA credited me the $10! Call 877-437-8196 for those who didn't get it.

I have gotten several of these things in the mail... I always get them the 2nd or 3rd week of the month, so by the time I get them they are worthless. It's pretty funny, actually. I'm almost glad I'm not tempted to try to get the bonus because of the fight they are putting up over it.
