Asterisked: "*The fees for balance transfers made with an application are waived. Thereafter, balance transfer fees may apply." Duh... I see it now. I take it they will have to give you an instant approval over the phone in order to do the BT so you know how much you can BT off the card?

No, if it's anything like a mail or online app, they'll most likely ask you when you're applying whether you want to BT, the account number of the card(s) you're BTing to, and the amount(s). They'll take that into consideration when they are processing the app - I don't know how US Bank works, but some issuers will give you a larger CL if you put in a BT at the time of app. So if you ask for a $15k BT, they might come back at you with a CL of $16.5 or higher (depending on all the other factors of the app). They might approve you for a smaller line (say, $10k or $5k) and process a BT for 90% of the line (read the info in the lower right hand corner of the app you linked: "Balance Transfer Terms and Information"). They might approve you for a smaller line and call you and say "Do you still want to do a BT?" Or they might not approve you at all. |

Ok I spent a lot of time on this today. I am glad I looked at devildoc's thread because I got a couple of improved offers from that thread which I added to my AOR. Please take a look at my latest list of cards I am applying for in the order I plan on applying them in. No more than 2 apps per Bank per business/personal. I may be pushing it with Citi... but I am applying for those cards for the bonuses. If they give me decent limits... that's an added bonus. |

F**k.... of course I start my AOR today and the Citicards website (accountonline.com) is all messed up. Getting timeout errors saying to call for service. Duh. Gotta do all my citi apps by phone now. Bummer. |

Ok my AOR is officially launched and I think I did pretty damm good so far. Based on the fact that I already have a Citi 0% for Life card that has a 24k balance with 80% utilization... I was INSTANTLY approved for over 130k in new credit lines. This is not even including anything by Chase and most of my AMEX offers. The 30k instant approval on the WaMu targetted card was nice. But I have one issue with that card. I read the terms and I saw 0% till 2009 but that was for purchases. Well stupid me on the application I submitted a 26k Balance Transfer to my Citi card before I got the approval. Well they approved me at 30k but this BT is now pending. The BT terms are no fees which is good... but it has a 9.99% APR. DUH! Trying to get this reversed. If I can't get it reversed ill pay off the BT ASAP to minimize interest. I wonder if they wouldn't have approved me for the big limit if I didn't submit that BT. The Penfed 24k limit was nice to get too. That will help with overall utilization (along with the WaMu). Other than that... overall did pretty good so far. Hopefully Chase will be good to me because I already have 15k card with them I am waiting to reallocate. |

Oh and I forgot to mention... Citi was a real bummer. Their accountsonline.com website for accepting CC applications was down all day today. Everytime I tried to submit an application or clicked APPLY NOW it gave me this accountsonline is temporarially unavailable please call in with your account number. Was like that all day today so I had to do my Citi apps over the phone. This may have hurt my chances of getting anything decent with Citi. I couldn't get the PremierPass Elite 25k TYPs because its only available online. Tried talking to a rep and they said (on three different calls) that the max they can offer is 15k TYPs. I decided to pass on that card for now. I would have been more pissed... but I wasn't expecting anything major with Citi since I already have a big open line with them. |

Regarding Wamu, call them up ASAP, cancel the BT and do a $100 BT instead. Pay the BT off once it posts, and then you'll have a $30k with 0% on purchases till 2009 to play with. See bwjgmail's post in this archived thread. |

I read that thread. Maybe my ooooops strategy with WaMu will pay off since they may not have given me the 30k limit without the BT. I did call them yesterday to try to reverse the balance transfer but they said my account wasn't set up yet and to call back in 24-48 hours. Ill try again today. I am actually going to tell them to change the BT from 26000 to 260. LOL looks more legit that way. ill tell them my wireless keyboard hit zero too many times. hahaha that way I can get credit for the BT and try to use the 0% purchase apr somehow. Citi lets you fund a HYS with a CC fax in authorization form. they ssy it may be treated as a cash advance by your bank but people that have chase cards say theirs went through as a purchase. this may be worth a try with WaMu if there is a cash advance cap fee in the terms. |

Yes, $130k -- on instant approvals -- is really great. Note that you did get those results from traditionally generous lenders, AMX, Juniper (lately), Penfed... but it's still a great result. Also, nice job on getting a legitimate CL from HSBC. I will personally choose the reason that you got the large Wamu line was because it was a pre-approved offer, not because of the BT request. If, while trying to negotiate down the fee, you end up talking to someone who seems really smart, maybe you should ask them why they gave you the large credit line Funding a Citibank deposit account with a CC is a great idea that's worked for lots of people. Especially if the card has good CashBack rewards. Note that it didn't work for me on my two attempts, though. (Once with a citibank card and once with a USAA card). The crappy phone CSRs told me both times that the transactions were "denied", with no more info. My hunch is that it was because the transaction was very large, and too near the card's credit limit. Don't really know though. |

I got an email from Discover saying my Miles card (personal) is on the way. I called the customer service line and they said I was approved for a 6k limit. They said my business application is still pending. Now if I get approved for the business line... can and should I reallocate to Business and do the BT from the Business card? |

It is possible to reallocate from personal to business. With business, the BT can only be done to another card unlike the personal card. The business card comes with fee-free purchase checks at the promo APR, but you have to be able to list a merchant on the check (which I don't think can be a bank). |

If discover lets you do it, yes. |

My memory is a little hazy. IIRC, they said credit card only, but you can call and ask. |

Interesting change in credit scores today. Big jump in EQ score. Not sure why... maybe more available credit as three CCs started reporting today (12k BoA, 17.5k Barclays, 6k Discover). |

I got faxed a business credit application from National City Business asking me to sign the application and fax back. So I would imagine that application is looking good. Don't know the limit yet though. |

Citibank called regarding the ProfessionalSM card. She said that I already had three other personal lines with Citi and I was near my max credit allowance with Citi. But low and behold she actually suggested (and offered without me saying anything) that I would reallocate (without closing) my other lines as best as she could onto this new Professional card. So the new ProfessionalSM card would have an 8,000 limit. The Citi Diamond MC that I have my 0% for life offer would be lowered to 26,300 (putting me back up at 89% utilization on that card. She said she would lower my Dividend Mastercard and Visa cards to 500 limits each but keep them open. Not bad! Considering that Citi has been tight with reallocations before. They must value me (and my on-time payments) as a customer. ETA: New limits already showing online. They are fast! Good to see my Citi phone apps worked.

Citibank called again regarding the Business card. In fact I think it was the same woman. LOL 4,000 limit was the best she could do on this card as I am already way maxed out with Citibank. Better than nothing I suppose. I'll make two small purchases on both cards when I get them for TYP. Pay them off. Then I'll try to get the ProfessionalSM card reallocated to the Business card then do BT. Or should I go the other way around (Business to ProfessionalSM?). |

Reallocating from Professional to Business is better because the ensuing balance won't show up on your credit report and won't damage your credit score. |

I knew there was a good reason why you always go from personal to business.
