Even though converting 30K points to $100 GC sounds so tempting, I would recommend that folks use this for actual hotel reservations. At 15K points per night, you can easily get 2 nights. The way the travel industry is going right now, each night is worth around $80 to $100. If you are able to use this for 10K points Hiexpress, that is even better since you get 3 nights and in most cases, Hiexpress is not much cheaper either. Also, seems like they are really going after making the HiExpress look very good. My last two stays were at some very clean/nice properties. |

One night at a Hiexpress near a large city or major airport is usually 25,000 pts. |

30k is only worth one night at the HIExpress in most cities or about $100 bucks. The SPG Card is a much better deal because 20k SPG points get you three nights at the Sheraton. |

Edit: I thought I wasn't going to get the 15k Biz card points, but when I checked today I found that I was given 30k for the Personal card and another 30K for the Biz Card!!!! Also on top of the 60k in points it looks like I have also been given Plat. Status! (not sure what that gets me) |

You were right - there were a bunch at 25K points. But then there were a bunch at 15K - example Anaheim West was 15K points. Also, most of the places with 25K - the room rate was much higher than $100. I have had very good luck in getting a free night at 10K or 15K points in some touristy locations. So I will be doing exactly what I am preaching! |

If you do not wish to keep the card cancel before the fee is charged. I just tried to exchange the card for another and learned they could give me a Freedom Dynamic, but a product exchange would not eliminate the fee. I cancelled. If I had called a bit earlier I could have done the exchange ending up with a useful card for spending for rebates. |
