For the record and to put things in perspective, except for the wrong information the first CSR (from their call center, I believe) gave me about being able to wire directly from my CD accounts, and except for the signature verification issue, it wasn't that bad. I do commend the other CSRs I spoke with for making sure the problems I encountered were solved swiftly. If I'd initially made sure that the CDs were going to my share account upon maturity, then the first problem would have been avoided.

I guess the next time I get a driver's license, I'll make sure to sign it as sloppily as I do everything else.

Finally, the interest I earned more than made up for the slight hassles I went through to get the transfers done.

I requested SECU to wire funds to WAMU. Then I went to WAMU branch, added some money to add-on CD (5.1% APY; can add up to the amount of initial deposit) and wired the rest elsewhere (no fee for outgoing wires).

I wonder if the little old lady processing wires at SECU has quit yet?

Well, It's unlikely any CDs will be maturing past next week, so at least she'll get a break.

makeinu said:It bounced. The funds were withdrawn from my account yesterday and the bank told me on Monday that the "check was returned from SECU unpaid".

I have the bottom receipt-portion of the check with the check number and everything which I gave to SECU when I asked them why it wasn't paid and they told me they won't know until they receive the check back from their intermediary bank.

Also, I wasn't expecting the funds to be available on Saturday. The bank just happened to make them available until they got notice that the check was being returned.

The saga continues. I finally got a replacement check which I mailed off for deposit two weeks ago, never to be seen again. I'm going to rip my hair out. Over the last month I have had all of the following methods of deposit result in utter failure:
1. Cashier's check deposited at B&M (returned).
2. Wire transfer on cleared funds (refused due to large amount).
3. Cashier's check mailed for deposit (lost).

Next time I am insisting on cold hard cash.
