Juniper/Harvard Alumni (need link) ...
Where did you get the idea about this card? I got a targeted offer for a Juniper/EvenBetterSchool card some long time ago and it does not list any URL, just the phone number (for instant decision): 877.805.8694. The offer mentions 0% APR BT & CA for 15+ months, but the 3% BT fee is uncapped. The only good thing about this card is the CL "as high as $100K" ... so (given your scores and HHI) applying for Nat-l Parks and this card (with the idea of CLR to Nat-l Parks) may be a very interesting idea. The other piece of info (also good and bad at the same time) is that Juniper pulled TU & EQ when I applied for one of their cards (that's the part you are potentially going to like), but they did so a few days AFTER denying me (that's the bad part).

So, if you were to pursue this, I'd apply for the Juniper pair of cards first then wait for decision and only then continue with the rest of the AOR. Also, Juniper does not make the impression of being too friendly to multiple card application at the same time.

Lastly, if you don't mind sharing, what state are you in?

Eugene, once this shakes out, it would be interesting if you could summarize which lenders would not proceed without an EX pull, which would pull a different CRA, but with some work on your part, and which may have tried EX, but then reverted to another with no intervention required.

Also, the GEMB denial is noteworthy if you take their reason at face value, since some FWFers had been thinking that leaving SOME balances on cards might benefit an AOR... and least in GEMB's case it might not.

Eugene: for how long are you keeping the freeze? Please be careful EX may put a 7 y fraud alert on you also---just to mess you up.

interesting responses so far.

did i miss the reason why you're spreading your apps over several days? just curious.

You're correct, the accounts and balances won't show up, but the inquiries will still be on your personal CR. I'm guessing you fall in the inquiries-are-mostly-insignificant camp. GL

Eugene's strategy makes a lot of sense. Order of processing can be important, and the inquiries from earlier apps would be a problem even if the apps were done all on one day.

I see the strategy, and now that I see he had pretty much zero inq's before starting, I agree it shouldn't be a problem. I forgot he is one of the bumpage aficionado's. Ordering them is pretty much a guess it seems, it is good to see another strategy.

From the ICS faq...

...These studies have shown that the most powerful predictor of such credit loss is application activity for a social security number (SSN). Accounts with SSN bankcard application activity greater than selected thresholds are significantly more likely to become bankrupt or charged off than accounts below those thresholds. The most telling SSN activity threshold is 6 or more applications within 90 days. As many as 75% of accounts that hit this threshold are likely to become bankrupt or charged off.

Great info, lhendricks et al... you should add the highlighted quote above to the credit scores thread
