dmlavigne1 said:My Tips and Tricks I have learned through 2 AOR's (will update this later):
1. WAMU and HSBC give crappy limits so don't waste your time on an application from either! 3. The best way to compile a list of cards is to look through recent AOR's here and look through cardselections.com I compiled this list in about 1.5 hours.
1. One exception: I got a $15k line from HSBC on a UnionPlus MC in my October AOR. 3. It's very easy to do the opposite of your suggestion; I sweated big-time over this, spending tons and tons of time over the space of a few months collecting and compiling links and relevant info. |

So after my run in with chase I found a nice suprise in the mail box today. Fedex delivered the BT checks for the sony card which was ok, then there was an envelope from nebraska and it was kind of thick. I thought cool, its the BOA royal carribean card that I signed up for after my AOR for the bonus points. I open it up and it is a business priority club rewards card with a 99.00 BT cap and 12 months 0% and no annual fee (no bonus points on first purchase though). I know I did not sign up for this. I carefully planned my apps and only did 2 business apps per issuer. My wife said that they did call and asked if she signed up and she said yes (because she didn't know the exact cards I applied for). It sounded weird at the time but I thought she meant the personal priority club card. My only thought is that the off shore CSR's at Chase screwed something up. Oh well their loss my gain even after the BT fee I will make about $643 in additional interest. |

I just found out that my BOA Royal Carribean card was be approved. I signed up for this on 11-5-07. Obviously the report showed no balances but there were a bunch of pulls. Rats, makes me think I should have done more BOA cards if they were still approving cards 17 days after the AOR. |

With my first AOR 6 month money coming due in late February I had a thought. In true FW fashion, why not do another balance transfer of the ~8-10% of the money that you have paid back on the 12 month 0% no fee cards (Citi, BOA, National City, Us Bank) to pay off the 6 month money (or at least part of it) coming do. You wouldn't even need to do any BT laundering because it is a legitimate payback. At the very least I can probably squeeze another 10K out of the 12 month cards netting about $300 in additional interest. Always looking to maximize |

3 new chase apps took 3 to 4 weeks for approval. Man are they slow, but they were very good to me. |

SO I just got AMEX creditsecure and am wondering if any of you have seen such a huge point swing? Identity protect = 644 on transunion and credit secure = 729 (more reasonable). Crazy difference |

Ya AMEX tells you what you want to hear. although I feel my 778 is closer to correct than my 728 on cip and tc. My eq fico is 710 which is a joke now that my last collection fell off from 6 years and 9 months ago. Not credit related. |

Yeah have fun comparing apples to oranges. Better yet, when the cops pull you over for speeding in Canada, tell them you interpret all speed limit signs as mph. |

I understood FAKO's to mean all of them are FAKE score! hence the name FAKO's I don't think any of them really have the name FAKO! THAT WOULD BE STUPID, I think it's slang. Nowhere did I say I even care what the FAKOs are, but I figured WE ALL know the differences. AMEX scores are higher than anyother. Like any creditor would even use that crap. The financial markets bundle debt according to FICOs not ANY FAKOS, they just sell FAKOs to the public. |

Crazy difference To answer your question more straight forward DMLAVIGNE1, YES I have seen big point swings! But you should rephrase that for some (I knew what you ment) but some must not have.
So you do realize they are not the same right? So technicaly they are not swings but just different scores totally. But it is my opinion that AMEX sell a score that makes some people feel all warm and fuzzy inside because it is higher than FICO. |

So I just noticed the first little hiccup in all the BT's. I temporarily have joined the ranks of people that have paid interest to credit cards. US bank sucks. I had to make a small purchase to avoid the yearly fee. 11/9/07 (Friday) 1.02 balance finally posts to the account 11/10/07 (weekend) 1.02 payment is done via interbank from linked checking (same bank) 11/12/07 (Monday and a holiday) call for a BT to BOA 11/13/07 BT posts (showing a trans date of 11/12/07) along with the payment (which shows no trans date) 11/19/07 BOA actually receives the money (dirty that they book the bt way before the check is even sent) November statement shows making a 1.02 payment to the balance transfer that hadn't even been initiated when you made the payment. Nice!! My net is paying $2.00 in interest a month (their minimum). I have to call and get it revoked. I just find it slimy that their system works this way. It always pays to check your statements to make sure you are not paying interest. Chase and Citi don't behave this way. They are way more straight forward. This reminds me of dealing with 53rd. |

It's lame, but it's also demonstrates that it's important not to overrush the lag that's inherent in credit card and ACH transactions. The soonest a CC transaction or an ACH transaction will post is the next banking day. And with ACH, it needs to have been originated on a banking day, so that means that it may more likely take two business days. In hindsight, a more optimal order would have been: Day 1: buy two bananas with your card Also Day 1: Initiate an online payment for that purchase amount. Probable Day 2: CC transaction posts Probable Day 3: Payment posts Day 4: *Request* BT Day 10: BT funds arrive at other card While transactions are "pending" there's always a chance the posting order may not work out in a desired way. It's useful to wait until the transaction actually post before moving to the next step. On the upside, if you're paying US Bank two bucks a month in interest, they may think you're an extremely profitable customer, and you'll get better offers! |

Ehh they waived the fees and cancelled the interest. I would have made the payment if the crappy system would have let me make a payment on a pending transaction. The transaction took 5 days to post and I made the payment on the first available day. |

The transaction taking 5 days to post is fairly unusual (might have been a delay on merchant side... sometimes taxi cabs take a long time for me). And the limitation on paying a card without a balance can be drag. I can usually force a payment in there with an outside bill pay system, though. Glad you got the annoyance charge waived. |
