Any of you guys been able to change your PIN at an ATM or over the phone?
I still never got my PIN# from the mail yet. Do you know how long it usually takes after the debit card comes in the mail?I believe I got mine 2-3 days after the debit card
I wasn't able to find this on the People's United website--I guess they've hidden it away since they don't offer the rewards checking to new customers anymore--so folks may find it useful:

Now I'll need to find some other place to put my money!

info posted here prior (still valid): Farmers Citizens Bank in Ohio has a Kasasa Cash RCA that offers 3.01% APY for balances up to $25k. I don't know what states are valid for this RCA.
Requirements: 12 swipe transactions 1 Direct Deposit OR 1 ach pull debit billpay.
Newly posted here info: If you have the Kasasa Cash RCA and meet the requirements every month they have an free add on savings account that gives you 1.76% APY for balances up to $100k (FDIC insured)
You can certainly do better than 1.76% for an additional RCA, but I thought I'd mention this here in case there are some that looking to sock away some bigger funds and are already at their personal RCA effort limit.
Farmers Citizens is changing to 2.21% as of November 25, 2011 on 1st 25k, so I would look elsewhere. Don't know if they just are late in updating the web page, but I would call first to confirm you're not wasting your time...

Son-of-a-gun, you're right. The website is now updated. I just opened the savings account last week after having the RCA for the last 9 months. Looks like I'll be closing down the whole thing for greener pastures.

This results in saving for you, as they can offer higher interest rates and lower fees. Another benefit of having a free, online checking account is that they embrace technology, they almost always have an app for your phone where you can deposit money by taking a picture of a check, transfer between your checking and saving accounts and get alerts when you are almost out of money.
I agree with your rationale but I'm confused where this is coming from?

It looks like "jeannasalvatorre" is an automated script. Googling the name shows it shills for an Australian bank. Looks like it keys off the term "High Interest".

What's the current best nationwide rate on RCAs with 25k or higher limits? I see a couple at 2% but nothing better. I see a ton of options for 10-15k limits but I really don't want to have more than a couple of accounts.

I just noticed this on my statement today.. Anyone else thinking about switching to Consumers Credit Union or any other RCA?? Also, I never received a notice about this change??

Rate change was posted on Depositaccounts.com a month ago. And yea it is pretty bad they did not notify customers. But as long as they keep me into $100k max I have no plans on changing

Hopefully, the transaction fee does not apply to Verizon FIOS.
Crap ... When they were trying to introduce their $3.50 fee (also mentioned in the article) online bill payment had a message that read something like "Soon we'll begin charging a $3.50 fee for each payment" .. there's nothing like this right now.

Certain articles state that you can still use a credit card at the in-store kiosk without a fee. I wonder if it will allow multiple transactions (or cause you to get weird looks from the Verizon employees)

Yeah, they're getting sneaky about that. Endura Financial went from 4% to 3% to 1.5% in a six months recently. I didn't receive a single note about it and only realized it when I checked my statement. They also had one of the more demanding requirements too (15 $10 debit card transactions and $2500 deposits a month). So I'm off to Nicolet.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but ING is offering a free checking account $50 to open. "Get started and earn a $50 bonus. Click on 'Apply Now.' Open Electric Orange and make a total of 3 Card purchases or Person2Person Payments (or any combo of the two) within 45 days of account opening. Your $50 bonus will automatically be deposited into your account on day 50." No overdraft, ATM, or monthly fees. http://www.ingdirect.com/nofees/?utm_medium=CLICKTRACKER&utm_sou...
Since there are so many of these banks offering RCAs, I have to ask the question.... what is the point of the 12 debit transactions? What does a bank gain from these debit transactions that allows them to offer such a high interest rate on these accounts? I don't get it! Thanks.

As with credit cards, the vendor pays the bank a fee for each transaction.

You have to be regularly banking with them to probably accomplish that task. Many people are just looking for high yield accounts they can leave their money in and not think about it.
how often does reward checking at Community Bank of Raymore compound? Do they have the feature that pull money and push money to other bank? Is this feature free?
