djspray said:Got a few cards today. Advanta, ESPN, and both AMEX's are in. BT'd $9,000 from Advanta to checking ($90 fee). $13,000 from BofA is showing in FNBO today, that makes me happy. Received Penfed materials today, sending back in tomorrow, but still no notification about online notes about "Financial Verification". I reallocated my AMEX's to give me $43,400 available for 6 mo. BT on IN:Chicago. If I remember right, they recently changed the rules regarding their BT checks, and they are all (no matter who's name it's in) counted as Cash Advances, or atleast that's the CSR convinced me of. I'm trying to devise a way to BT to one of my cards to utilize it. Suggestions? I'll let you know what I come up with. You need to launder. The PenFed would be great for that. Take a no-fee cash advance and pay it off with a BT from AMEX. You could also use a no-fee BT card (e.g., Citi Biz or US Bank). Just make sure you create the balance FIRST and then request the BT. Seems like everyone (even Citi) is getting twitchier about negative card balances. |

Thanks for the tip, lhendricks. I guess I don't have to worry about my negative balance BT from Lifespring now that it go declined, lol. Penfed still hasn't called me about income verification, so I'll prolly be proactive today to get this squared away before the weekend. I hope that works out, as it seems like the best option for a possible $20,000 BT from AMX. |

Received Barclay's cards, Key Bank, IN:Chicago, and a few others on Saturday. Also received a Kohl's card with a CL of $1,500 after they said they declined me in store. Recieved Discover and CitiBus PP today. Denial for 5/3 Business card - excessive inquiries, new lines, insufficient time of relationship (I assume with bank, lol), etc. Upon activating and hearing that woman's wonderful voice, I realized the Key Bank card is a division of Citi. I know I read that somewhere, but I almost wish I hadn't applied if I could have reallocated more to my Citi cards. Reallocated $3,000 from National Park to Bank Atlantic, which is now $10k. I'll prolly take almost all of that out once I get some BT checks. Got Lasalle Bank(for $200 bonus) on Sat., and SBoT info today which was much quicker than I expected. I will try to make it to notary today to get that app moving. Realistically, it looks like I might top out at ~$125k BT money if I can get the Penfed issue squared away(for $20k AMEX BT), which I emailed them about today. |

You wont get any BT checks from Bank Atlantic; it has to be an actual BT, and directly to a credit card at that. No other options have been found. |

Long break, progress stalled somewhat. BT'd $6,300 from USBank (no fee) to BofA Iowa last Wednesday, and will request ACH to checking once it appears. Chase Business Rewards app was still pending last Wed., who knows what they are still doing. The Chase AMA card I converted too has 0%, 12m BT, $75 fee offer, too, and I just got checks over the weekend, so the Chase BT will happen no matter what. Started some reallocations on Citi personal cards to start moving to business, should have $5k to move while keeping reasonable CL's on personal side. Penfed is becoming a pain. Penfed wanted last two paystubs, which I sent .pdf's last week. Now they changed their notes to "still require income verification noted 'additional income.'" This additional income is my two housemates making the same income as myself. I actually have 3 right now, but one is leaving soon and didn't want to push it. I don't want to bring them into this, even though they are following my progress. I'm thinking of sending an email saying that it is the income of my two housemates which are the same salary, and can give contact info, but would rather not send them actual paystubs. Thoughts? |

I would just be honest about the roommates' contributions to HHI. Do you have any significant assets (like BT proceeds) you could show them? I was able to get my app approved by providing bank/brokerage statements without showing income docs. Of course, this was back in June before the credit crunch sh*t hit the proverbial fan. |

I could send them my Bank Accounts showing BT proceeds and some my IRA that I started a couple years ago. I'll just give them what I have, and worse case scenario they approve me for a lower CL. |

-Penfed said that if I wanted to consider them household income, I would have to have them as a "co-applicant on the loan." I said I wasn't aware their credit cards were treated as a loan, and I offered further financials. They are proceeding with the app without considering the additional income. -Called Chase last night, and they just approved my Business Rebate card for $5,000. Phew. -Citi can't reallocate any CL of Plat. AMEX, as it is considered NPSL. Put request for additional $3k of personal CL from Diam. Pref. to CitiBus PP. She said it should be possible. -BT form US Bank originated 11/21, but still hasn't shown up in BofA Iowa. I might have messed up here, as many recently many are saying negative balances on BofA cards is bad, while others say it has worked out OK. I called last night to warn them but it wasn't showing yet, only a $1 Temp Auth for "Cardmember Service." As soon as it appears, I will be talking to them. -Oh, and GE Money Bank card has been showing up on my EX for about a week with $4,500 CL. Who knows where the card is, and they claim that I wasn't in their system when I called last week. |

you could probably convert the citi AMEX card to something with a reportable (and reallocate-able) limit. it's a pretty sweet rewards card, though. you might actually want to use it to (gasp!) buy something. btw, did you ever find out why nat city declined your lifesprings app? any chance at reconsideration? |

I'm definately keeping the Citi Plat AMEX. Gotta hit $300 with G/G/DS for 15k TYP, then as soon as my 5 TYP/$ promotion runs out on my Diam Pref in Jan., it will be my daily spender. I never thought I'd find a better card than my Fidelity 2%. Lifespring declined because of excessive inquiries and new accounts. They obviously pulled late in the day, so I wouldn't put this one far up your list. When I called last week, they didn't want to discuss reconsidering. |

i'm strongly considering Eugene's semi-rolling A0R technique to guarantee app order. If this is important, I don't see much downside to spacing your A0R over a week or 2. |

I wonder if the problem with a negative balance is just most people don't wait long enough to request a check? FNBO and others don't even give you access to funds after a payment until something like a week after!!!!
It seems they are nervous that the payment may be no good, So I think it's better to wait until the neg balance has time to clear TOTALY. I would not talk to BofA until ATLEAST 1 week after neg balance hits!!! |

The $6,300 negative balance from BT just showed up today in BofA. I'm considering one of two approaches since I probably shouldn't have gotten myself here in the first place. 1) Transfer online to BofA checking account, then hope that they don't assess cash advance fee, then call if they do to see about having it removed. Then transfer out to FNBO via ACH 2) Call and say I made mistake by sending to wrong BofA card (NEA has BT already out) and see if they can just transfer to checking. The second requires human contact, but it seems from following this thread that they may be watching online transactions anyway. |

Semi-roll works - and group the apps by the bank, too - some banks pull fewer than the number of apps you have. Do be mindful that some cards may take a week or two to get approved (Discover Biz took 2 weeks, for example - but pulled TU). Citi reports new accounts very quickly, so may get those apps toward the end of the AOR. From what I see, score takes a pounding not so much from extra inquiries, but with second new account showing up on a CRA report. I wouldn't space it over more than a week or two though - as the new accounts are bound to start showing up by then. And one would want to reallocate clis and have BTs in place before freaking he issuers with new accounts lhendricks92 said:i'm strongly considering Eugene's semi-rolling A0R technique to guarantee app order. Hey, I was wondering if the AMEX deal still has 25,000 points. I read the fineprint as reccomended but I only saw 5,000 bonus points (and more with major purchases)..... Are there any amx cards still giving the 25k or did this end in the last few weeks? THANKS |

The front page and terms at the top of the app page don't mention the 25k points, but the terms link (here) still say 25k points after first purchase, no minimum. I also have a screen shot. |

-Went to transfer $6,300 negative balance from BofA Iowa to BofA MyAccess checking today and got this message: "We were unable to complete this transaction due to a problem with the status of one of your accounts. For further assistance, please call the customer service phone number located on your account statement or your ATM/Check card." Ruh roh. I might have to call now. Maybe I should have tried it yesterday. -Finally got GE Money card yesterday with $4,500 limit. With $75 fee, I'll only make <$165 on the BT. I might just leave it open to keep my personal utilization low, just as I'm doing with my Key Bank card. I'm definately feeling the credit crunch with these low CL's. I've tried for CLI's upon activating, but all want to pull credit again or say not eligible for 6 months. EDIT: -Oh, and the Pers -> Biz Citi reallocation hadn't showed up after 2 attempts, so I requested a $9k No-fee BT check on CitiBiz PP two days ago. The extra $3k just showed today, so I might call and take another $3k no-fee BT. -No news from Penfed. Argh. |

-Penfed finally declined me, stating not enough HHI for requested amount. That was a waste of $5 in their account. I'm going to have to figure out another way to get my AMEX BT out. -$6300 negative balance on BofA Iowa is still there, and I can't transfer it. I figure I'll wait until my statement closes, then see if I can transfer. They haven't contacted me about it. -Requested another $3k check from CitiBiz PP. -Called Chase (after hours) about moving $24.5k from Freedom to Business Rebate again. He said it should go through no problem, and even promoted the idea of investing it. My favorite line was "I'm probably just the gray-haired guy that you hate to listen to about financial advice..." I wish I got more CSRs like him. I'll be thrilled if this $42k BT for $75 fee goes through. |

I called BofA and after pushing apropriate # to speak to a CSR, 1 of the options was (do you want a refund of a credit balance) my credit was only 7 bucks, but maybe it'll be automated. I still think after 7 days you'll be alright and there will be no doubt that it has cleared. So no need to investigate or anything like that. |
