What's the update on your case? Did BoA actually send you a check for the balance? In fact, BoA will close all my accounts too, 1 business and 2 personal. They send me a letter and tell me that all my accounts will be restricted in 21 days. I called the 704 number on the letter and left them a brief message. Someone called me back the next day, and I was told that it was an internal decision by BoA to close all my accounts, and he can not disclose the reasons. |

Not accusing you of anything whatsoever, just seeing what conclusions if any can be inferred from your AA here. |

dear sir; i had the same problem with bank of america citibank us bank and every bank i encountered. so i contacted the us senate oversight committee via phone and fax and spoke to us senator partick leah from vermoant and u s senator sessions and cplained by voice and fax i form of a letter. then i filed complaints with the federal trade commission and the office of the comptroller of the currency at the us treasury. then i filed the coplaint with the FBI online. so far i got the ceo of bank of america arrested us bank officals arrested. plus a whole lot of crooked bankers and more to come. even had us marshalls fly into this town and arrest 4 police involved and the us marshalls are after a bunch of state prosecutors and state attorney generals as well. they pplayed that negative $888,888,888,888.00 on my acccount and all others in this federal lawsuit we filed and force the government to settle out of court on. yes there is a way and it involves using the intere net to file your complain and faxing congress every day for 7 months to get any action. |

Would you please give me that address? BOA closed my account and sent me a cashier's check for $7,400.00. The check never arrived and when I called them to notify them of the check never arriving, they told me that now I had to wait 3 month for the new chek to be issued. The people working on that deparment don't have any manners. I'd like to sue them not because of the fact they closed my account, but because and the treatent i'm receiving from the customer service representatives. |

Cashier's check was probably lost in the mail. Three month wait is "standard" to reissue the cashiers check in such cases. Can you elaborate on "the treatent i'm receiving from the customer service." Last I checked "don't have any manners" and "the treatent i'm receiving from the customer service" are not grounds for a lawsuit. |

I JUST had the EXACT same thing happen to me with ALL my BoA accounts! It is sad because I am a Real Estate Broker and use to refer Bank of America to all my clients (about 175+ clients per year). Now I will advise against using BoA and will refuse to do business with those who bank with Bank of America. What did you ultimately do to resolve your frozen/closed accounts with BoA? |

rnj1975 said:OP, first you said this (on page 2 of the thread):
EDIT: Before anyone asks, yes, I'm a US citizen (natural born) and yes, I provided Bank of America with entirely accurate personal information.
And then you said this (on page 8 of the thread):
I'm Muslim and I was born in the Middle East. One of my parents is white and I grew up speaking English, so nobody can tell my race or religion unless they know my name. The CSR pretty much called me a terrorist.
Am I missing something? Don't know what the OP's answer to this was, but I could say the same. I was born overseas, but born an American citizen -- I have an American birth certificate, issued at the American embassy, as well as a birth certificate from the Middle Eastern country I was born in. My mom was American, my dad was ... not. It's very possible to be born an American citizen without being born on American soil. |

Today I noticed a $1.00 charge on my BoA card. I don't use the card other than to pay big bills and to go through my monthly wash through billpay. Its a "pending" charge. I wrote to advise them I did not make such a charge and that last week Chase Fraud Dept. caught a $1.00 Snapfish fraudulent charge. I wonder why I am being the victim of $1.00 charges all of a sudden.... |

You didn't by any chance request a BT from US Bank/Elan to that account? They do that before they send the BT. No charge, just auth. |

Lol, that is what it was. Thank you. I opened up a new account with them and did a balance transfer. They should call it "Balance Transfer Test Transaction"! They approved me for $20,000 line. I am hoping they transfer at least $18,000. |

BofA just closed both my credit card accounts and those in my household. I called in to ask why my 10 year old card had been closed and the CSR manager then started to ask me about why I took a balance transfer out on my new card and then repaid them quickly through 2/3 other balance transfers. I explained, but got letters in the mail the following week saying all my accounts were closed and those of my household members. Beware of doing more than 1 BT on BoA cards. And if you do, do not alert a CSR by calling them about the account. FYI--I have a middle-eastern last name. |

theficus said:My small claims court case yielded mixed results. Although the judge said he sympathized with my plight, he claimed he couldn't award any damages because my claims hinged on Bank of America violating federal banking regulations. I told him the OCC advised me to file in small claims court, but he insisted he couldn't award damages. He dismissed the case without prejudice and advised me to refile in federal court. I'm consulting with an attorney to pursue the case in federal court at this time.
The Bank of America attorney was cold-hearted. She refused to speak with me before our case, wouldn't look at or even acknowledge me during the case, or discuss the option of dispute resolution. I tried to talk to her afterwards, but she ignored me and kept on walking. Your lawyer is an idiot! Get another 1! I want 4.5 million for pain and suffering, then we'll see how their attorney acts. Then just give her an eat $hit and die look! Also I want my trial by jury, no way in hell i'd let a judge decide! Take them evidence that BofA pulls this crap will other people as well. |

Maybe that is why Carlos Slim's father altered his last name from Salim, which is a very common Arabic/Middle-eastern name, to Slim. (Carlos' father Julián was called Youssef Salim before moving from Lebanon to Mexico.) |
