I spoke with Marty over the last couple of days. It turns out that Marty's sister is also involved in the company - Laura-Ann. I went to dinner with her a few weeks back when I was originally introduced to the company by a friend- It did not make sense than and it makes even less sense now! During dinner - Laura-ann made some outrageous claims Like "all of the Nassau county judges are investors” WOW! Considering the strict rules for any public officials investing in private companies, that fact in and of its self was crazy, but it got even more outrageous as the night went on! I was later told by an Agape world inc Rep - Laura Ann that Tom Hank's Production Company - Playtone is an investor - Why one might ask? - Because there is a better ROI on real estate scams than in Movie production and distributions for an A-listed actors, THAT MAKES SENSE, I think not?
Laura Ann told me that she accepts personal checks from investors made out to Agape world inc at her personal address, this would make processing the checks easy so they would not get lost! A company reving 120 MM dollars annually has a processing issue with checks? I think the only issue with check processing comes when investors send checks to Laura ann's house. Seems very very un-ethical and strange.
I asked very easy questions none of which could be answered Like, how do I prove my money is secure - the answer was by the 2 page contract from AGAPE. I said "Oh that seems reasonable" - NOT! It just doesn't add up! The claims of the two reps are just too sensational and over the top, none of which can be proven or backed up by real proof.
My friend thinks he is making money on the deals. But to date he has invested well more that he has pulled out. Maybe when the scam blows up he can take a claim in front of the same judges that are investors in Agape world inc. Or maybe Tom Hanks will make another movie called "boiler room 2" and he can invest in that business.
Moreover when I called Marty on his cell phone. He was very standoff-ish and wanted to know why I was asking so many questions. Once he found out that I had spoken with his sister he thought I was trying to go around her. Which was not the case, I was and am still trying to get real answers to very simple questions. I was later told that the President of Agape Nick Cosmo was angry that I called his reps directly. Which seems very odd that I can't get Nick Cosmo to answer any questions yet he gets upset becuase I spoke with his reps driectly.
I remember back a few years ago when scamers used these types of message boards to promote pump and dumps stock deals. I guess this is the next level of scams here on Long Island.

About the Hot 100 This is how it all begins: The Hot 100 ranking is compiled with the help of CentrisPoint, a research organization. Entrepreneur and CentrisPoint started with CentrisPoint's database of nearly 21 million U.S. businesses and considered only those businesses that met the following criteria: Must have been founded no earlier than 1999 and no later than 2003 Company sales in 2003 must be $100,000 or greater; 2007 sales must not exceed $1 billion Must have positive job growth between 2003 and 2007 Must have a minimum level of sales growth or a sales growth quantifier of 1 or higher between 2003 and 2007; the growth quantifier is a measurement that combines percentage and absolute growth.
Only 64,000 businesses--or 0.3 percent of the nearly 21 million businesses--met the above criteria. Entrepreneur then contacted the businesses with the greatest growth to confirm eligibility. To be eligible, the founder must be actively involved in the company, the company cannot be a spinoff or a division of a larger company, and company sales for 2007 must be at least $1 million. From this list, the Hot 100 was selected.

From the web site: Agape World Inc. is a private bridge lender since 1999. We do not provide residential mortgages. Call us if your commercial loan scenario does not meet the standards for institutional bank financing. Issues such as a time-sensitive transaction, poor credit, a non-cash flowing commercial property, or other hindering challenges may prohibit you from traditional financing. Agape World Inc. works with you and your potential project to help raise assets to meet approval for traditional lending at a later date.
See, it's not a scam, they spell it out clearly: "We loan other people's money to businesses that regular banks wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole". I'd like to know how the interest rate on the loans compares with the interest offered to the investors.

Why do shills think we're stupid? I mean all shills in general, not just the last one... if I had an investment giving me a guaranteed 14% interest, I would love to see threads devoted to bashing that investment. More for me in that case. I sure wouldn't jump on to a forum to tell people why they are wrong about my investment and why they should join me.
I never understood this... of course, you can't throw a rock without hitting someone who has a "my buddy told me to invest with company X, now I lost all my money".

Hi Camad,
Since you obviously have some insight into this company, could you please tell us how it works? How many clients are there? How many employees are there? What is the typical duration of the loans? How many investors are there? What is the typical return on the loans? How Agape World is related to Agape Motors and to a little league?
I think it's just a waste of your time to belittle everyone that questions you without providing substance. A number of us are looking at it with an open mind. In addition, it would be in Agape's best interest to turn this thread into a positive since a Google on "Agape World" brings up this thread right beneath the Agape World website.

Actually I have been approached and was considering. However much research has to be done. I see all these messages and wonder why no one has gone through channels to find more about the company. I see no statistics, no calls to the BBB, Dun and Bradstreet I don't consider a resouce. I see everyone complaining but not doing their research. I would think anyone making any kind of an investement in anything would research and research. This could be a good thing may be a bad thing. I was wondering if anyone had FACT.
I did not realize how many others were wondering the same thing I am. Are we all sitting back and wondering or are we doing some valued research to find out if this for real. I also wonder why you can't find any of companies they listed as doing business with on the web or why they don't provide information on the companies that are coming to them for loans.
Gee if I was going to invest (and I may if it's legit) research research research first. Has anyone called the number listed? I tried several times and reach a lady who states they are having telephone trouble. I along with some others left word several times with no call backs. Wouldn't one think that you would have an office where calls would be answered appropriately and have a team that would be able to provide the information we require? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh well guess they don't want our investment.
This is a private company so Dunn & Bradstreets or Better Business Bureaus don't mean a thing.
Before I invest I sure would like to see earnings, who their clients are (and I don't just mean names). It seems like a very small company so where are they getting the funds to put up these bridge loans? Guess they don't have any risk because from what I can tell they are using my and others in a group formats money to loan money out.
Hey this is all by word of mouth. Would I like 11% as someone said and what I was approached at hell yeah but at what expense 100,000 250,000 sure is a lot to loose but then again 11% is a lot to gain. I will do my research for sure but boy does it sound tempting. I know someone who states they made 50,000 so far but they don't have a check and keep rolling over their money. Wonder what would happen if they wanted it all back?
I don't see any bank deposit slips or any notarized documents either. Something to research for sure. We are all talking together but maybe should be talking to the Attorney Generals Office or Channel 2 news etc.
Just at thought

How it works people companies need loans, mortgage, personal, etc alot of people, companies don't qualify for these low interest loans so this company using the money of investors to provide these loans on a 12 to 14% rate.So if you invested 20,000 and in the first month your 20 made say 2,000 they send you a check you could reinvest it or bank the profit and vest the 20,000 again my accountant and his son have been investing with them for three years, only when the interest rates really fall is when you don't make alot.

I am not a so called shill nor am I an investor, but i do see the logic behind the whole scenario. To me it looks like someone had the know all and contacts too lump a huge sum of money together. They then loan this money out on a short term basis to those who cannot secure a conventional loan for one reason or another with a bank. I believe the person who recieved the initial loan from the Agape world company then goes to a financial institution showing this loaned $$ as equity in order to secure a larger loan with the bigger lender. After recieving the loan from the financial institution, they then repay the high interest short term loan back to the agape world company who in turn pays out their initial investors at the rate they were promised, keeps the excess interest gained from the short term loan and the cycle continues. Sounds like this is whats going on here and it sounds legit too me. Anyway good day.

WTF!?!? Lar57, your math doesn't work.
12-14% / month = 381% APR!!! This is even worse than a credit card cash advance. Also, there's a reason why these people don't qualify for the loans in the first place. The risk of default is too high.
What is the default rate on Agape's bridge loans?

All this talk have any of you actually tried calling the company, and speaking to someone there. i have been with it for almost two years. i have always recieved a check, granted each new contract i am in panic mode. i started out with a low amount and of built that up substantially. I usually reinvest and take a little cash each time. I am happy with it, i dont know much of the workings of the company. but there are tons of bridgeloan lenders, and many do fund with private investors. I does seem that they are not out looking for investors and i only got in via friend, and a little research on my own. There are a lot of other points mentioned on this forum that i do have slight knowledge about, but not worth mentioning. My point was that if you are really interested you should try calling then respond. they seem a veery customer freindly operation, it does also make me feel better that i am within a reasonable distance of the actual location. Anyway for those that just like to talk trash about something they have absolutley no knowledge in enjoy, it makes for good reading, and i see that there are others actully in the company on this thread.
