michal1980 said:yes we called in the card as lost, but its a local credit union c.c. so their dispute divison is closed until monday.

so a new card should show up soon.

its a small transcation, from who really knows what company. for all we know this card was stolen from tj max a year ago (since we shoped there) and finally got used as a test.

just wanted to give people a heads up because i've read some of the previous posts on FWF that were very similar in nature (small repeating costs)
Hey michal1980, happened to see this thread and thought I might give you a heads up. I saw a 60 Minutes story the other night on CC #'s being stolen by way of poor wireless security by some places. TJ Maxx was the highlighted company. I don't know anything on Imaglobus but it sounds like TJ Maxx might be the problem and maybe somebody bought up some royalty-free illustrations and photos from Imaglobus with yours and others card numbers. It could be a test also, as you said.

It is pretty scary that these companies care so little for peoples information and are or were using WEP security after being warned about the vulnerabilities. There are other companies listed as using WEP as their wireless encryption and thieves were snatching CC info and other info by means of war driving. Some big names mentioned besides TJ Maxx were Home Depot(AKA-SSID "Orange"), Best Buy, and Staples.

Read page 2 of the 60 Minutes article linked to. The story then showed an FBI guy buying stolen CC #'s online to show how thieves sell them. Scary stuff.

Not sticking up for Imaglobus because I know nothing of them, but you mentioning TJ Maxx and seeing that story on 60 Minutes doesn't seem like a coincidence. A call to TJ Maxx may be a good idea to see if the location you went to had poor wireless security at the time, if you can get them to admit as much. Anyone else having similar strange charges might think about where they used the cards of theirs in question.

Hope you get this issue worked out and I hope my local BB and HD stores had WPA security at their stores or no weasel war driving. Ignorant companies caring little for their customers should be stood up against to deter this crap from continuing.

FWIW, I too got a charge and need to dispute it tomorrow morning:
12/02 IMAGLOBUS.COM 2108074272 TX USA,000 Merchandise Standard Purch 9.87

When I called the CC co., they apparently have a hold on my CC until I call the "early detection fraud dept.". Maybe the CC companies are catching on to this (or maybe the hold is unrelated).

I also had a 9.87 charge that appeared today on my check card. I called my bank and am disputing the charges. They canceled my card and are issuing another. Pretty easy resolve, but there's something fishy about this company. I'm a pretty saavy internet shopper and don't get taken in by opt-in or "free" services. I don't do business with companies that try to pull this stuff. No idea how they got my cc number, but at least my bank is making it easy to solve.

Here's another fishy thing. Usually my cc charges show up as "pending" in my online acct for a few days. I check my online bank account every day. This one showed up overnight and never appeared as "pending". That's very odd.

Card has been canceled and new number issued. so we put that beast under.

My fiances co-worker just had her card number used in europe (shes never been their). Still creepy. makes me use my c.c. more and more, and my debit card less and less. always nice to have that safety net.

An Update:

As part of my fighting the charge, I contacted Imaglobus through their website - the Contact Us page. I was issued a refund almost immediately from them.

Here's part of their email to me:

The reason you were charged is because an account has been created on
our web-site and was paid with this credit card. Since you did not make
and/or authorize this purchase, then apparently someone got a hold of
your credit card information.

I have contacted our accounting office and I confirm we have issued a
full refund, so the money should be back on your card within 5-7
business days (depends on your bank).

I have also passed a note to our security department asking them to
lock this account as well as asked them to find out more about
the user who used your card. I will get back with you as soon as I
receive any information from them.

The thing is, this is the only bad charge on my account, so I don't believe someone got my card information. Otherwise, there'd be more unexplained charges. My husband believes it's a case of automated cross selling, though I don't usually do business with companies like that. They also sent me a username and password that was used to sign up for it and the IP address it came from. So that'll help figure out what happened.

I just spoke with my CC company and am getting a new card.

To the previous poster who thinks this is an isolated incident.. GET A NEW CC #! Our account numbers are in the open and have been stolen. This is not an isolated incident because there was another charge pending for $3.xx when I called in. This was the reason they froze my account, to ask me about the $3.xx charge.

Yeah, its a pain in the arse to change all your payment info everywhere, but its a bigger pain to deal with a $1,000+ fradulent charge on your credit card. Just my opinion, but better safe than sorry. I'm curious to where they got all our CC #s.

Jones..and others......it's a scam I just cancelled my card that imaglobus just charged 9.87 to. I also got a bullsh*t reply from imaglobus asking for my last 4 digits of my CC so they can fix it...HA...I'm not freakin stupid. So just to let you know it's bogus and call your CC company right away to get the charges off and your card cancelled.

Hello,
Signed up just to post this message. Keep the warning going! I would have been clueless about this charge if I hadn't Googled Imaglobus.com and saw your warning. I also got a $9.87 charge on my DEBIT card. This could only have happened from a store, as I do not use my debit card for online purchases. I believe what someone else on this site posted about the 60 minutes story, and stores not having the proper encryping software to stop people from stealing your personal info. Well, my Bank stopped my card and is issuing a new one. I'm MAD!!! I hope they get caught. Watch your Bank statements too!

There are links on the 60 Minutes page(lower left side) to related information regarding this story. This link is from there and it is an official statement from TJX(TJ Maxx) from Oct. 07. On this page there is mention of a class action settlement proposed for problems caused by them using inferior security and personal information getting stolen.

I'm surprised more aren't wondering how their info got in the hands of Imaglobus, and other places mentioned here, if they never actually gave them their information.

alert mods

thank god for their 30-day money back guarantee.

if you aren't satisfied with their fraudulent charges, they'll refund your money no questions asked!

alert mods

Never shopped any TJX stores, and out of any of the stores listed, the only one I have shopped was Staples, and I used my credit card there, not the DEBIT card that got abused. That is another reason I am confused. There must be another store not listed that doesn't have up to date encryption system. Going back to using cash is always another option!!

alert mods

tis does sound very fishy, who steals credit card numbers and charges $10 to some stupid subscription company. No they go out and buy gas , or electronics.

Who stands to gain from these charges???? hmm not too hard to figure out. This company needs to be investigated HARD.

alert mods

I, too, had the $9.87 charge on 12/17. In the past month, the only places I have used the card are the grocery store and National Geographic. Did anyone else who had the charge get in on the National Geographic deal? I think NG is a reputable company, but maybe they were the ones who cross-sold my account #.

Yep same thing here just got off the phone with B/A they credited my card immediately. Have to wait till tomm. to do anything about the 3 dollar one since it is still pending. Canceled my visa and had them issue a new one after finding this site.
Thanks all

p0g03, check your BoA statements to make sure they don't carry the charge over to the new account. They issued me a new account and card only to carry the $9.87 charge (which somehow went from 'pending' to 'completed' after my first call) to the new card and I had to call them two more times to get that taken care of. I even sent them URLs of this thread and others about imaglobus to be a bit proactive but the messages didn't seem to get to the right people. Personally, I am a bit irritated with BoA for dropping the ball on my first two calls about this issue.

I recieved a credit from IMAGLOBUS.COM
i went to their website which seems to be up and running again, e-mailed them a request.
they credited my account the next day.. it took a few days to register on my card acct.
i did cancel the credit card because it seems someone knows how to use it.. but the credit
did appear on the cancelled acct.. so i think its not imaglobus, but someone who gets
info to buy on imaglobus or test the cards there.. i dont know.. but i thank imaglobus for the credit.

alert mods

I got the same charge from IMAGLOBUS.COM on my debit card as well. I had already cancelled my card and am having a new one sent, plus the charge was reversed before I came across this thread.

It is really hard to believe what I see is true or not.
All these members are registered now and complaining.
All of them registered in Dec and this is their first post. I find some thing fishy.

Except the OP, is there any senior mem who got burnt?

It is too difficult to believe these similar post.
I doubt may be it is a scam to put a legit company down.

a web search also finds similar results. those who are bashing this site are new members joining the forum.
why would u bash? you can very well file a charge dispute and move on.
