Does Bed Bath and Beyond count as a department store? |

It appears that Target, WalMart, BBB, etc. are discount stores clearly not department stores....departments stores would obviously be JCP, etc. that have cash registers at different departments through the store... archived thread Here is an archived thread with another citi promo. that specifically spells out excluding discount stores...so this offer isnt so hot... |

This is a pretty clever promo on their part...not sure which stores actually will count towards the 5% so I've used the card to all stores it could possibly count. They've gotten me to use a sockdrawered card quite a bit now since Black Friday. So far I've tried it in person at Sears and Target, and online online at Circuit City, Tiger Direct, Newegg, Overstock.com. Will report back if I get any findings for all if they qualify for the 5% or not. Oh also I saved a copy of the offer confirmation screen and will stick the terms in the QuickSummary since they weren't listed anywhere in this thread.

They've gotten me to use a sockdrawered card quite a bit now since Black Friday. Same here. I'm obviously using it at the places that give 5%, but I'm also using it for any purchases that I don't have other 3% of 5% cards, since all other purchases get 1% which is what I'd get on the other cards anyway. That way I'll make sure to rack up enough bonus cash to get a check. |

citi is now denying such a promo exists.... CSR checked with supervisor, and said there is no such promotion and if i have proof, post-mail it to Citi customer service... people in SD are reporting this as well... |

I just called and my CSR denied it had it too. He went though it could have been on my old card but not the upgraded one bla bla bla. Finally he said there was a message in notes to give 5% on "restricted items" for "limited time" stating November 30th (which is when i signed up) I asked him for an e-mail or letter confirming this and he said he couldn't. I asked him what the note said and he told me its in internal language the customer wouldn't understand. the CSR was overall helpful but im still concerned |

Well the terms said: "It may take one to three billing statements for your bonus Cash Back to post to your card account after the promotion ends" So looks like it could be a long waiting game. |

i am just not gonna use Citi cards this xmas... Amex (Costco) has 3% (1% regular +2%extra) CashBack for the month of december (called and confirmed)... so this is not worth the risk |

Yes just had my first statement. The purchase that I had at RadioShack clearly lists "Electronics" but still get only 1%. I called CSR and she told me that there is no such thing with my account (I have only 1 account with citi). She said that she is going to investigate it. Let's see what happens. |

Update: I called again today and the gentleman was very quick to see that I did have a promo. I also got him to agree to send out a letter to me confirming the promotion. It should arrive in 7 to 10 days he said |
