I've only had my simply cash card for a few months now, but I'm getting 5% Cash Back from costco gas. For example:

2 months ago, $334.59 in total charges, all 5% categories ($74.84 from Sprint Wireless, $259.75 in gas including $203.25 from costco). $334.59 x 5% = $16.73. My current activity shows $16.73 Cash Back this period, exactly what it should be.

Sams Club gas doesn't take AMEX, so I use the Discover Gas and Auto when I go there. I don't generally get gas at Kroger or Meijer since Costco/Sams is usually cheaper.

I haven't tried the Simply Cash card inside at Speedway yet since I've been going there less and less frequently. But I will try it sometime because you can usually buy a pre-paid gas card at a 2-4% discount, if the Cash Back works on top of it, even better. But if not, the pay-at-the-pump is better.

I've found using the SimplyCash card at the pump at convenience stores is hit/miss with regards to having it classified as a gas purchase. KwikShops near me don't count but another convenience store does count.
