Thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look into the hilton card. BTW, I searched the reallocation thread twice but could not find scott1961's posts on it.

Discover Biz - not sure if 0/0 will work. But probably worth a try - tempting offer being 18 months. Can request a BT with the app, too - which can come in handy. They do seem to take their sweet time approving you.

Max exposure might not be a problem in getting approved with chase. I got new Sony CL of $1,000 and they cited "sufficient available credit" with Chase. However, they said I should reallocate my CL from other cards. Not sure about citi - except that they've approved me with a LARGE (over 20k) non-zero promo BT balance showing (for them, not on CRA)

I'm not sure where to direct your BT from lifespring. If it can be done, I'd rather go for several smaller BTs to different accounts. It helps when one actually has balances outstanding. There was a thread about xferring BT money to bank accounts... See if your target citi card has some sort of no-fee BT to checking/self-check and request it during AOR.

Thanks for your suggestions. As this is the first time I am applying for biz cards and since I really do not have a business, I thought I should take it easy on the number of biz cards I apply for. I picked the ones that are known to give CL to apps with 0 years, $0 revenue profile. Is discover biz one of them?

With citi I have almost hit my max exposure as far as personal lines go. So no point applying for 2 personal cards. With biz cards I decided to apply for only one as I want to first see if they will even give me a CL without an actual biz

I will definitely ask for $25k BT with app for Lifespring as you suggested. Would they BT to bank account or do I need to BT to a Citi card (no balance, so I will go to a negative balance and ask for a refiund check, hopes this trick still works)

here's an example of converting a Hilton and then reallocating.

They seem to have all kinds of little timetables for when you can apply for another card, request a CLI, etc.

Thanks. I now realized I was looking in the wrong thread for scott1961's posts

Thats a good data point. In the past discover has been frugal with giving me high credit lines. I am already applying for a discover personal card, so I will mostly stay away from the biz card.

I've also been preparing for my next AOR and hoping to get a second Citi Driver card. Unfortunately, the BT fee is now 3% with a $75 cap in the first 12 months. Cardselection hasn't updated their page, but if you click through to the terms and conditions page, it spells out the fee as I've stated.

You are right, thanks for pointing this out. I think they changed the terms very recently.

Just got a pre-approved offer for HSBC platinum card in mail. I know that HSBC is unpopular for AORs for giving meager CLs but I could not find an instance where the meager CL was for a pre-approved offer. Worth a shot?

Not for BT purposes, maybe (but unlikely) for lowering overall utilization.

Thanks. I will probably keep it as the last app in that case. Last time HSBC gave me a $700 limit and I wasn't too happy with it. Pre-approved offer may result in higher CL but you never know!!

Does anyone know if Advanta Business and Barclays Business credit cards report to personal credit report. I have TIN number for my business, but was not asked during application process? Or do I provide it later?

advanta and barclays do not report to personal, at least for my S-corp.

also, i believe both applications asked for TIN. i have yet to encounter a business application that didn't.

so did I have to put TIN instead of SSN and I screwd myself over? Advanta application on the next page they did ask for Business Name but not TIN...

The business cards don't show on my personal report (except of course for the credit inquiries from applying). I used SSN and applied as a sole proprietor. If you did the same, I don't see any problem with that. I just called up the application for the Advanta Small Business Card and noticed the same as you -- it asks for SSN. Since it's a "small business card", they probably expect situations similar to mine. If you want to use TIN instead of SSN, I'd simply call them and ask. I'd also ask if it's going to cost you another hard inquiry, and if so, I'd weigh that against wanting the card to show up under your TIN rather than SSN on business credit reports.

almost all business card applications require a personal guarantee, so they'll ask for both SSN and TIN, if you're not a sole proprietor.

Just for fun, I went through the App as a corporation, but didn't submit. The SSN field didn't change its designation, nor did another field appear for TIN. It's quite possible after the submit, the request for TIN might appear for other business types than sole proprietorship, but if you're a sole proprietor, it looks like it's just SSN they want, probably because of the personal guarantee you mention. So perhaps the applicant is a sole proprietor who also has a TIN. It's interesting to me that a personal guarantee on a pure business card won't affect your personal credit reports. I say "pure" because you have pseudo business cards like Citi Professional that *will* show on your personal credit reports.

Regardless, I'd still contact Advanta and ask about using TIN instead of SSN if that's what you want. It might not be possible, but never hurts to ask.

I actually selected Corporation on Advanta Application (since I have LLC); and yes all other business apps asked for both SSN and TIN, with exception of Advanta, BankAtlantic, and Amazon Business Chase

Just talked to them and they don't need TIN...have some "magic" database that will "find" my TIN...I don't believe it; and they will report this card on either personal or business report at their discretion (which most likely will be under my SSN)
