Thanks for the update....perhaps I shouldn't try this afterall. Rorer714 said:My statement closed on the 17th. There was no BTF but they did charge me finance charges (14.99%) on the BT. I called and explained that I was given a promotional code (so I made this part up) to receive 0% 12mo and no BTF. He told me that code was not valid for my account but would honor it since that is what I was told. He explained that further BT with this code would not be honored. Be careful before using this code. Thanks to Glitch99 for suggesting I wait to my statement closes to see what happens! |

It posted to my account today with no fee, so I called and asked to them to verify the terms of the transfer. The CSR stated that it was the 12 months, no fee, 0%. I did not ask ahead of time if it was availabe on my account nor had I received any mailings on it. You are not worried that they might pull the rug like they did to Rorer at statement closing time? |

If everyone tried this, I'm sure US Bank would catch on due to the FW effect and shut this down, no exceptions. Lucky you though! Best bet seems to contact US Bank and see what offers are available and VALID for your account. |

There is a thread on this. According to the T&C they do and people have done it. Visa® Platinum Card Benefits 0%† introductory APR on purchases for the first 12 billing cycles. 0%† introductory APR on balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles. Credit limits up to $25,000.00. Near the bottom: The introductory rate does not apply to cash advances and is valid for six billing cycles. The rate will end early and increase to the current applicable APR if your Account is delinquent, over the limit or closed. We apply your payments to balances with lower APRs first. After six billing cycles, balance transfer fees apply. This was translated to reference BT's done during the first 6 billing cycles a no fee and 0%. If you do a BT after the first 6 billing cycles the interest rate is at the standard rate and BT fees apply.

no, because when i called immediately after receiving the card they said it was a 3% fee. Also, I received the card back in October, not July. |

Yes, but the T&C says that BT fees apply after 6 months. |

To me, the terms you quoted means that a balance transfer fee will apply if you initiate the transfer six months or more after receiving the card. |

So if you initiate the transfer within the first six billing cycles no fee. Read the AOR thread within the Hindustani thread. It covers this. |

If BT is initiated online, is there any place to enter the promo code to get rid of BT fee? |

Please keep good records, some of the companies say or imply that there is no fee, but will charge it anyway. |
