optionsXpress $100 bonus Archived From: Finance

I don't have a link to this at this time but I have heard secondhand that the deal was in fact extended to 1-31-08. Also it was supposedly modified to allow referrals whereby both parties will get a $100 bonus.

Will try to confirm this in a future post!

Interesting data point. I'm getting ready to do my wife-o-rama this morning in fact and I think I'm going to remove one of the Marriott cards I was planning to apply for and just do that one under my own name in a month or so. I was planning to do 2 pers. and 2 biz., with one Marriott and one United as part of the total 4.

I just sent a referal and the letter that was sent was nothing like the one in the link.

Found the problem: You need to wait a couple of days for 2nd email saying you can get $100 bonus by opening an account.

That link makes it look like the referee must execute one trade to get the $100 bonus, which is probably not true. The trade is only necessary for the referrer to get the referal bonus.

sorry this is kinda ot and it might belong in the wrong thread. the question of hard pulls on my credit report if i applied for a margin account made me wonder, due to the fact that i've applied for a ton of credit cards past month for the rewards.. if my credit dipped to a 700 from a 750 due to the massive amount of inquiries, how long would it take in terms of years for my credit to get back to above a 750, or is it irreparably damaged due to the massive amounts of credit i was issued in such a short time.

When the original link is used and gives you a certificate warning, you can replace http in the link with https, and you can insert www. just after the //. It worked for me, anyway. The ACH startup process takes a few days, so you may want to use their free fedex opening deposit offer that is available at account login.

Bonus won't show up until 1/10/08.

For the record:

Applied 12/19
Mailed $500 check 12/20
$500 posted to optionsXpress account 12/21
$500 withdrawn from checking account 12/24 (yay float!)

Make sure to print out the FedEx Overnight label immediately after applying. Once your application is processed (took a few hours for me), the link to get the label disappears.

So the website still says the account needs to be funded by 12/31/07. I guess they didn't extend the offer.

I asked the forum before - surprisingly, there was no answer: why not set it up, so that everyone here opening for the first time could get BOTH principal and referral bonuses? Everyone here seems to be opening "dry" (just collecting principal $100) and only then introducing family...

Anyone??
