Saw this in the sunday paper:

Discover More Card:

Get a $100 CashBack bonus when you're approved by april 6, 2008 and make $500 in purchases with your card within 3 months of being approved.

I was as surprised as everyone else to see such a large bonus. I live in Sioux Falls (Citicard HQ) so maybe this is a little potshot at a rival company =)

About Intro APR DAXS and DBGS make you forfeit the Intro Purchase APR (ie no 6m@0%) and they carry higher Purchase APR (12.99% instead 10.99%). DBPQ and DBPX both are from the same Sunday's coupon batch (4/5) has Purchase APR at 13.99%.

Yeah, any way you could scan? We're not calling you a liar, it would just be nice to have on file. That's prolly the best Discover bonus I've seen. The monthly purchases are annoying for the 12k Discover Miles bonuses.

I think it should be that you will get some dollars if somebody uses your invitation code and get approved.

I doubt it. When you clike through CardSelection.com to the application page, there is no place to input the Invitation Code. So I guess it is no go.

Thanks OP.
I just applied, and I saw the message "Congratulations! You Have Been Approved! Welcome to the Discover® Card family! Your new Discover Card(s) will be mailed to you shortly at the address provided on your application." But later I got an email to say to wait 30 days for the application to be processed. So do I get approved?

Just call them. I applied over the phone and was given a decision right then. Sometimes they want to ask you questions to verufy some things that don't match, etc..

Got approval the next day.

I applied yesterday and didn't get an instant approval. I got this "30 days to process" email. This morning I got an email saying my card is on its way. Still don't know the credit limit or anything.

Thanks OP! I always wanted this card, and I am glad I got it with a pretty good bonus.

I called them and got confirmed the $100 bonus.

Then I applied online and got approved.

Does balance transfer count as purchase for the $500 requirement?
Spending $500 in 3 month seems a little hard for me to do.

Buy some gift cards for anywhere you regularly spend (supermarket?), and keep using them all year.

Darn, i already have a Discover card. 5% gas rebates are great on the card.

There is no reason you can't have more than one Discovercard. I currently have two...the gas card and the standard Discovercard. I use one for gas because the rebate is great, and the other for most everyday purchases...plus they have extra rebate offers available on a quarterly basis that you can sign up forwith the standard card. It currently is 5% on air travel, cruises and motels. Works out great!
