began pulls on 2/23/2009 with 3 services (CreditCheck Total, CHASE Identity Protect & CreditSecure from AMEX)
9 days and 27 pulls later the first TU inquiry was bumped: 03/03 pull removed a SECU 10/6/2008 inquiry
25 days and 69 pulls later the 2nd TU inquiry was bumped: 03/19 pull removed a 11/6/2008 barclays inquiry
26 days and 72 pulls later the 3rd TU inquiry was bumped: 03/20 pull removed a 11/6/2008 barclays inquiry
30 days and 84 pulls later the 4th TU inquiry was bumped: 03/24 pull removed a 1/7/09 Nat City CLI inquiry
I opened a checking account (aka coin deposit account) with Wells Fargo last week Friday (03/20/2009). Unexpectedly, Wells pulled hard on my EQ file. I found the timeliness to send credit file alerts to me to be very slow. I observed the following timeline with respect to how quickly different services send credit file alerts:
Experian based AMEX CreditSecure 03/23/2009 1:57 AM
Experian based Triple Advantage 03/23/2009 3:57 AM*
Experian based CreditCheck Total 03/23/2009 3:58 AM
TransUnion Based TrueCredit 03/23/2009 8:10 AM**
Equifax Based Deluxe ID Theft Block 03/23/2009 12:32 PM***
CHASE Identity Protection 03/23/2009 5:01 PM
*free service from my employer **I haven't officially canceled the service (they are still trying to bill a closed card) ***received 1 year of monitoring for free from an old Netbank data file security access concern.

43 days and 129 pulls as of today... all my EQ inquiries are still on file... I'm adding National City Identity protect effective April 10th as a 4th service to continue quest to bump hard EQ inquiries off.
for me, TU bumps come quick, but i use 4+ services when i do it....EQ b* takes longer, i suspect because CK isnt touching it, or they may have a higher inquiry limit.
I don't see the option to refresh the report with NCIDP. Any ideas? I guess I'll sign up for CCT and see where I get. I've got to get these inquires off my report.
EDIT: You have to wait 24-72hrs to get daily pulls with NCIDP. I will update as I get more information.
I just pulled my EQ report and I'm only showing 27 inquiries between the two services. Should have 43. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to the dates that are missing. There's an older inquiry, but I'm missing pulls between the old inquiry and the newer ones.
Enrolled with CCT. Then I called, got the $9.95 deal, and told him to activate my account today, but when I go to refresh my credit report it tries to charge me $40.
Still no option to refresh the report with NCIDP either.

i am trying to bump inquiries off of transunion..using Chase identity protection, credit karma, credit secure, true credit, credit score express and credit check total.. credit check total will not let me pull until 30 days trial..i think that when you pull transunion base credit monitoring services they dont work for transunion softs..i would like to know if there is any other services that i can get to bump..does national city work at the moment??????
SegaRob said: Does this still work? How many soft pulls do you need to bump things off? I think there should be a better summary of this idea in the quicksummary.
I haven't had a single inquiry fall off from any report yet.

Jackcrawfish,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, is there a reason you're not using True Credit & PM 1,2,3? I'm subscribed to these services and want to know if I should replace them with what you have.

TrueCredit stopped allowing daily pulls back in December. A lot of us canceled our memberships at that time, myself included. Haven't heard if PM123 still does or not.

vkcvkc said: do we need multiple services and multiple daily pulls to be able to bump old inquiries? or can we just use one service over a longer period of time... if you think about it from a pure cost basis...because of the free trial periods for most of the services, it makes a lot more sense to sign up for a bunch of services and pull for 1-2 months to get b* than to just use one to b* for half a year....besides, i think there is very little data on the "slow and steady approach" to b* (that is, i dunno if it works)
vkcvkc said: do we need multiple services and multiple daily pulls to be able to bump old inquiries? or can we just use one service over a longer period of time...I suppose you could only use and pay 14.95 to AMEX CS for months and months and knock off some TU hards. But you cannot simulataneously use CK or any other TU based system or you will eventually get choppage
Still no b* on EQ. I'm crossing my fingers with the hope my luck will change soon.

Question: I applied for a student loan after having done 50-60 pulls. Inquiry from loan appears. Pull report over next 2 days (only using 1 service the whole time). After 2nd pull, the new inquiry drops off.
Weird? Luck? Loan company made an error and is pulling again later?
began pulls on 2/23/2009 with 3 services (CreditCheck Total, CHASE Identity Protect & CreditSecure from AMEX) added pulls on 4/13/2009 with 1 service (National City Identity Protect)
50 days and 139 pulls later the 1st EQ inquiry was bumped: 04/14 pull removed a 10/30/08 Citicard inquiry
Nothing bumped off with today's 4 pulls (04/15/2009).
eta: I ordered my Equifax full report to see what softs were on file.

Weird? Luck? Loan company made an error and is pulling again later? if it's TU, you're just seeing the normal, temporary next-day dropoff. the pull generally comes back on the 2nd day following the pull.
Still nothing off of EQ today. I'm waiting for my CCT trial to expire so I can pull 3 reports per day.

They still allow daily pull but only the TU credit report. The 3-CB pull is now only once a month.

2 Tu inquiries reappeared after a credit pull from my mortgage lender. I wonder if it pull all my old inquiries with last 30 days. The 2 TU inquires was bumped off like 10 days ago.
when you were bumping 1 inq for 1 new pull, they (the inq's) were likely close together in dates, right? I too have the same nuance occuring right now. A few AOR inq were bumped within 2-3 days while the most recent EQ hard inquiry on my report has been taking 2 weeks (and still counting).
Another possibility for you (and me for that matter) is EQ chopped off 29 out of 30 inquiries from one of your services and left just one soft on file.
