Venturion said:I got $2,500. I was switching cards (canceled my prior $12,500 CL and reapplied). My profile had only improved since the last app (lower DTI, higher income, etc.). Advanta is one of the few issuers that seems to be legitimately tightening the reins across all borrowers. I had an $11,000 limit on the Advanta card that I cancelled before this round of applications. I am regretting closing it now. It could have at least been useful for a daily spender to conceal utilization, though the rewards weren't very good at all. What a waste of an inquiry. |

I also got a denial letter from GE Money Bank. I went through a Financial Review by American Express about a year ago and they closed all my accounts. I figured I'd try applying for a couple and see what happens. They just sent me letters in response to my application asking for a statement from my lawyer accountant or broker stating my income and an IRS from 4506. I am sending it back but with a 4506-t and I'll see if that is enough. I'm not too concerned to be honest since the AMEX cards aren't very attractive but I'm curious to see how the application process works after an FR. |

The BT money has started to trickle in. I got $15,200 Bt'ed from my RBS Platinum Mastercard to my BOA HELOC and transferred it to my NEA Money Market account. From there it will go to my OneUnited money market account until I decide what I want to do with it. I'd like to put half of it in the highest yielding CD I can find and keep the other half liquid. My Discover Card account is debited the amount of the BT but it has not shown up in my HELOC yet. I'll keep a tally of all the BT amounts and fees I paid as they come in. I think I am going to try to deduct the BT fee as an investment expense for 2008 since I am legitimately investing the money. |

I just got a call from BOA and had to reallocate some money from another card to open the Business card. Once I get that card I am going to call in to activate it and try to get them to waive the BT fee and, if they do, reallocate the maximum amount possible to it and do a balance transfer. If it's not possible to get them to waive or cap the balance transfer fee I'll try to reallocate as much as I can to the NEA card and do a BT from it. I'd like to keep as much of the utilization of my personal report as possible though. |

Reallocating from Biz to the NEA card would be a first as well. |

I didn't realize that is was so difficult to reallocate among biz and personal. If I can't reallocate from the biz card back to my NEA card, I'll use the biz card as my billpay card. I usually carry a pretty hefty balance on that from month to month and having it on the biz card would shelter it. I delayed activating my NEA card thinking it might be easier to reallocate to it when I call in to activate if the plan with the biz card fails. |

Alas, I doubt you'll be able to use BillPay on your Bofa Biz card. I've got two Bofa personal (ex-MBNA) cards that share the same login as my Bofa Biz, but only the personal cards are able to use (ex-MBNA) BillPay. |

Well, it sounds like I kind of screwed myself on the BOA and Citibank accounts. I have too many cards with the CL's spread out among them. I am going to start trying to concentrate as much as possible into one citibank business card. I called last night and requested a reallocation of 5K to the Citi Business card and was told it will take 48 hours. From what I have read it sounds like that means it's not going to happen. I'll keep trying to get this all sorted out and document it here. |

Well the reallocation went through already. I am going to try to get some more moved over tonight. I have 14,800 in CL spread across five personal cards. 3 of them have 2K cl's, one has an $800 CL and the other has an 8K CL. I'll see how much of that I can move over to the business side, if any. I am hoping I can reduce those 2K cards further. |

Well I got myself out of the mess with BOA. It took several calls but I was eventually able to unwind the reallocation of $20,000 to the business card and put it on the NEA Visa. I am still waiting for the balance transfer from Bankatlantic, US Bank and National City. I've already called Bankatlantic a few times and they have told me the balance transfer has processed but it has not been credited to my Bank of America account nor debited from my Bankatlantic credit card account. The CSR I spoke to sent the account for "review" or something like that and I am supposed to hear back in 3-5 days. The BT's from Discover and RBS were really fast. I don't know why the others are so problematic. I also never heard anything from Fifth Third bank. I am going to try to find a phone number to call ask enquire about the status of my application. |

Here's an update: Fifth Third pulled my TU report but have no record of an application. They said I could apply again but that they'd do another TU pull. A bigger problem is the Citi Business card. I got the card in a "business" name that has my last name in it. I wasn't thinking when I did that because now I have a check that I tried to deposit at BOA that was made out to "Brushwood Enterprises" that got rejected and I'm not sure what to try now. This was a pretty stupid move on my part. Should I just call Citi and ask them to stop payment on the original check and reissue me one in my own name? I can't think of anything else to do. |

What's the name on the BOA account? I thought having your name (as the business name) on the business card may be a good thing, as the check will be made out to the business name (and you'll have an option to deposit it into you personal checking account). If the check is made out to a business name, you either have to have a (business) checking account in that name or find a bank that cares a bit less than BOA does (or try an ATM instead of a teller). |

I had the same problem. Call up a Citibank CSR, have them cancel that check, and issue a new one with your name on it, they can do that. In hindsight, having the Citibusiness card with the company name being my exact name would have made it automatic. |

My last name is brushwood, and that's the name the BOA account is under. I thought they'd take the check easily but I guess not. It was an ATM deposit that I tried and I just saw in my account online that the deposit got rejected. I actually went ahead and applied for a business checking account at BOA since I have an Advantage checking account that makes it free and I figured I may as well take advantage of the $100 opening bonus code. I'm thinking it would probably be faster to wait for the BOA account to open and deposit the check then than ask Citi for a new check but I haven't decided 100% which way I am going to try to do it. |

I just updated the OP. I originally wasn't going to apply for the Penfed card because of the $20 fee but a couple days after the original applications changed my mind and applied, requesting a $50,000 CL. I didn't get approved for that but did get a counteroffer of a $20,000 CL and took it. The application was in limbo for a long time though because they needed additional information but did not send me anything requesting it. I had to go look at my application status online and then call them. |

nice results so far. Are you certain PNC cards are issued by Elan? I hadn't heard that before but I just assumed they were self-issued. |

I think I assumed that because at the bottom of the application it says: PNC Privacy Principles | © 2007. Elan Financial Services in part and The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. in part. All Rights Reserved. | PNC Bank Member FDIC But it also says: PNC Bank, Delaware ("Issuer") is the creditor and issuer of this credit card. So maybe PNC is the issuer and Elan is the servicer? I don't know if that even makes sense or not. |

I got a PNC card in Feb'07. It showed up on my credit reports as "ELAN FIN SVC", but then this card started to show as "transferred" and a "PNC BANK - DELAWARE" card appeared (with the stats of the ELAN card). So there was some kind of hand-over between PNC and ELAN. I could access the card from both PNC and ELAN web-sites though... |
