I think what he meant is that you should have had them like this:

http://www.wachovia.com/misc/0,,1390,00.html

and this:

http://www.wachovia.com/misc/0,,1640,00.html

Use the http button above the window where you type your post.

Are you on something today?

Thanks OP!

Edit: On reading the first link... Do we need to use a Wachovia ATM and provide the receipt when signing up?

alert mods

Yes, use you ATM card on an ATM machine after receiving it. Nothing else needs to be done; the coupon is confusing (about bringing the ATM receipt to branch or call xxx, balabala). In my case, I used ATM card and 8 days later the $50 was deposited to my account.

My wife got two (luckily both TU) for opening a checking account with them ... but there are some other folks (I recall) that didn't get any ...

another code is ATML, also $50. I do not know the expire date for ATML.

bittul said:It's actually must simpler than that.

Just mention code "ATM2" to the rep over the phone, and they'll sign you up for the $50 bonus.

And for those looking for a referal, please PM.

I opened the checking account with them last year at the branch closed to home (went there with wife). The Banker said she needed to pull my credit in order to open the account and did it right then (also told me my score). A couple weeks later, we went back to the same branch with the same banker to open the same type account for my wife (and got $25 referral + another $50). When my wife asked if the credit will be pulled, the banker said she will not do it.

One other thing: I believe there's a $5 inactivity fee (no transactions during any 6 month period). So, if you don't plan to use this account close it or pull/push a dollar from some other account every few months.

Just got back from doing $50+$25 (+$25 for wife who referred me) deal from the branch. Dude who created an account for me was pretty upfront that a hard pull is involved in the process for new customers. In response to my questions "What for?" he gave me the usual "verify that that there's no identity theft going on" stuff, but he also mentioned a couple of new things:
-- apparently, Wachovia won't open an account for you if your score is below some threshold in lower 5XX.
-- the credit pull may allow them to open an account for you even if you're in ChexSystem (and were denied by other bank)

Anyway, I said "yes" to the credit pull (hoping it'll be TU, like it was for my wife -- will report what it actually was once I find out). Now, many are wondering how combinable $50 (ATM2) and the $25 referral promos are. Early in our conversation the banker was like "I don't think the two are combinable, if you were to pick one which one would you go with?", but b/c I was nice and he was nice, he called corporate office (or whoever they call for these things) and they told him that actually I should be able to get both (as promo codes are entered on different screens or smth. like that). If you do end up choosing between the two, I'd go for $25 for self and $25 for family member, as these are VISA gift cards (and may be tax free), where $50 is credit to the account and is definitely taxable.

I also got a book of 6 (duplicate) starter checks.

Glad to hear that it worked for you Cyberkost.

But, as per my conversation with a phone rep. She said it was no problem at all to "stack" BOTH bonuses.

If you get a rep/banker who is skeptic, just ask to double-check for you.
