I searched this thread and i couldn't find a concise answer to my question. I already applied (hard pull listed on EX next day) and was approved for a new AMEX card. If i Freeze my Experian right now, will that prevent the new account from being listed on EX ? |

Anyway, it was so convenient, I decided to go ahead and freeze right now. I just completed an AOR that hit my Experian quite hard and I don't want any more aftershocks. Discover hit me three times, once for the application, once when I reallocated, and once when I transferred the balance. After freezing, I realized I wanted a copy of my Experian report as a reference. I was able to get it from TrueCredit today, but don't know what will happen when I update tomorrow. You got a link?
I found it, LINK TO FREEZE/UNFREEZE I'm wondering how fast they can unfreeze? With TU I freeze apply and then unfreeze, it takes 10 seconds to freeze/unfreeze your TU report. Experian will let you unfreeze from XXXX to YYYY date, I want to apply for the known experian pullers and then freeze it back and apply with the rest. Anyone know how long it takes? |

Anyone know how long it takes? For the state of Virginia they charge $10 for each freeze and $10 or each unfreeze. Might want to check up on that. |

Your credit report will update itself normally and all your current creditors will be able to see the changes via soft pulls. |

If someone knows how to dispute inqs on EXP, I'd love to know. |

I could have sworn I saw a way to dipute inqs with EXP, but for the life of me I can't locate the information...I think I saw it on FWF, I thought it was in this thread, but after reading it again, I can't find it...maybe I was mistaken. If someone knows how to dispute inqs on EXP, I'd love to know. From what I understand, if you dispute INQs with Experian they will put a fraud alert on your report. Then once a fraud alert is put on any report, (by law) they must notify the other reporting agencies. So you end up with 3 fraud alerts for your trouble.
I don't think TU will be such A$$es, So I was thinking after my AOR, to put a fraud alert on my report and then try to dispute as many INQs as I can. Then you just have to send DOCs to get the fraud alert removed, If I knew for a fact I could get my 20 experian INQs off i'd do it in a heart beat!! Someone here on FWF has had to of done this before. Please post your experience if you've done it, even if you did it because of identity theft. Everyone thinks if you dispute as *not mine*, that there is some kind of paper trail. THERE IS NO PAPER TRAIL, Nobody is going to call chase or citi!!! Remember, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE PHONES OR FAX MACHINES AT THEIR DESK! In the case of EQ, they do alot of matching with address. Thats why it's so easy to remove INQs from EQ. If someone lives at my address with the same name, the inq could be put on my report EASILY. How can they know if WIN333 SR. and Win333 jr. and Win333 III don't live with me. I was looking thru my counties tax website and found a property I was looking to buy (a 50 unit apartment complex) the neighboring property was a duplex owned by a different Win333 (different middle initial). I've been told that when you go to pull someones credit there is a list of possiblities, so lets say there are 5 win333s in the area. They just need to click on 1 in the list, they aren't presented with only 1 choice (me). My name isn't SMITH or 1 of those, I bet smiths get screwed up all the time. I could be wrong a bit on the procedure, but it is a very basic procedure. So I think we should exploit it more. But anytime someone say ANYTHING about Disputing, all the honest knuckle heads have to jump in and say IT'S FRAUD or DISHONEST!! |

Venturion: With whom you had this success in disputing inqs? While on Freeze----does it imply that Freeze helps in disputing hard Inqs? "On the disputing inquiries front, no problems so far. The disputed inquires disappeared within 2-5 days and no apparent negative consequences." |

It has refused to pull anything since I froze Experian a few days ago. If AMEX CS fails to pull anyone of the 3 reports it will fail. That happened to me, my adress wasn't matching exactly on TU. I think I was able to update it on amexs website and it worked fine. |

Sorry, if it has been discussed already. PrivacyMatters keeps updates on frozen EX. Although, it may not include everything. So far, I've seen update of a new card. |

I just froze my EX and PM123 doesn't report ANYTHING for it (all fields are blank or 0's now)... Are you saying that credit alerts still work for EX even if it's frozen? PM123 is really garbage now, the details popup no longer works. What's the best alternative 3-in-1 monitoring subscription? (I don't care about b*)

Even though there are a lot of people here who are frustrated with PM, I do not think that this is everybody. For me it works just fine except when updating I need to re-logon to see the update. Another thing is what you are bringing up, there are not many alternatives available. |

Not many? I have 7 services. What service do you like the best? I want to be able to see CREDIT LIMITS for sure. The fact that PM123's pop-up detail is broken, and hence I cannot see my credit limits, means that the service is not usable for me. I don't care about B*, I just want the best 3-in-1 monitoring service. |

Score from True Credit - Experian 749 Inquiries - 22 21 of the Inquiries are more than a year old. Some people do an AOR with their INQs that old, but after your AOR you'll have over 30+ (MAYBE). I just can't stomach having that many. Thats I was unfroze, then let my known Experian pullers pull and then I refroze. Sometime creditors like to be smart asses and just pull another for the hell of it. IMHO if a creditor pulls my EQ and then wants to pull another, if they try experian and it's frozen then they'll pull my TU. CRAP1 has been pulling all 3 of EVERYONEs reports, I froze Exp and TU and they were more than happy to instantly approve my the last 2 times I applied. So I saved myself 2 experian pulls, thats worth $$$$$. But I'd never of known if I hadn't tried. |
