If you get the AMEX business card do you have to get a Costco Business Membership also to go with it?
Or can you still keep your regular Costco membership?

I heard this from the Costco CSR while shopping today. She said the 3% is valid now.

To clarify:

1. The costco business version of this card "true earnings business" gets you 5% back at all gas stations including the costco gas station, plus 3% at restaurants, 2% at airlines and hotels, and 1% everywhere else.

2. You do not need a business; just list your name as the business name

3. You can use your personal costco account; you do not need a business account

4. The "simply cash" card is unrelated to costo: it gets you 5% at gas stations BUT NOT COSTCO GAS, you also get 5% at office supply stores and wireless companies (vs the 3%/2% at restaurants and airlines/hotels).

5. I am not sure why anyone would get the personal version of this card.

I don't recall the exact fine print, but the implication is that purchases made with the card would have to be business purchases and not personal. Can anyone also confirm this detail?

Here's the fine print:

Under Terms and Conditions:
"...(f) REPRESENT THAT THE CARDS WILL BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL OR BUSINESS PURPOSES. "

Does the amount of Cash Back which as been accumulated show up on the monthly statement? I didn't see it on mine.

Look at the last page of your billing statement. I just checked mine and it shows:

Year To Date Gasoline 0.00 @3% 0.00
Eating Out 49.66 @3% 1.49
Traveling 0.00 @2% 0.00
Everywhere Else 167.61 @1% 1.68
Total 217.27 3.17

Under terms it says 20 days no interest on purchases if you pay your bill off each billing period. Does this mean I will incure finance charges if I do not pay the bill off before a charge reaches 20 days? So I would have to pay the card twice a month to prevent from a purchase reaching the 20 day threshold?

20 days for purchases, if the previous balance shown on each billing statement is paid in full by each respective due date.

bump for answer on terms

I have this card; all that means is that if your statement closed on April 1st, your payment will be due April 20th. So the maximum "float" with no interest would be 31 + 20 days.

In the last Costco Connection magazine (given to Exec members only) there is an ad that says TrueEarning card now gives 5% on gasoline, including costco gas. There is no mention it's business only so I think this applies for every TrueEarnings card.

I'm pretty sure its on the business card only. I just got mine yesterday!

Hope you experts out there can answer my question.

I just applied for AMEX True Earnings Business Card. However, my costco membership is a shared one where my dad is the primary account holder, and he's the one who gets the Executive checks.

My questions are, will the gift-check come to me or my dad? Will the amount be combined with the Executive check?

TIA

The credit card rebate check will come to you as you are primary owner of the card.
