Got this from costco magazine Feb 2008.
"Beginning this month, members with the cards begin receiving 3 percent cash nack on gas purchases! These include gas purchases from Costco gas stations and stand-alone stations (such as Chevron or Shell stations that are not part of a retail or grocery chain)."

Thanks for the info. Just joined costco last saturday. now its time to get the Am@x card. It atleast gives 1% cb for groceries. Cash doesnt give anything!

you all should really just get the business version of this same card - anyone can get it - Then you get 5% back on all gas purchases including Costco gas, plus you get the travel and dining rebates.

You know, i was thinking about it but was a bit hesitant. I do quite a bit of ebaying but not sure if i qualify as business owner.

do i have to put my name in the name of business?

I prefer the simply cash business card - 5% on Gas / wireless / Staples / OD
yes use your own name

Simply Cash

Questions about Simple Cash.

I know it's supposed to start this month, but why does the AMEX website not mention it? (do we have to wait until march?)

Quick question about the Simply Cash Business Card. My gf was curious if having that card requires filing of taxes differently or in addition to my personal filing?
Thanks

There's a post in the finance forums about business cards

Quick summary:
List as sole owner ship
Just use your own name as company name
don't lie (say 0 years in business 0 income -- if that's the case)

I do not believe telling AMEX you have a business constitutes lying to the IRS - just file your taxes correctly
