Three within 60 days.
I have over 7 CitiCards.

So do you have 8?

I have noticed a lot of people mention that they requested BTs that were almost their full credit limit. This is a personal card isn't it? I thought it was recommended to stay under ~50% or so utilization for personal cards that show up on your credit report. Am I missing something?

Thanks

I emailed them and asked about the 95% maximum utility of credit limit mentioned on page 1, they said since there is no fees and or 0% that the full credit limit could be used. I was also not able to transfer credit limits from my Citibank issued cards to this Associated Bank cc. Thanks OP, it is getting slim pickings finding cards that do not charge fees on balance transfers. I also was unable to directly ach funds to a checking account. My Citi cards offer that option. I guess I will just request a check sent out, but the only problem is that my bank holds these types of check for quite a long time. Hopefully, a check pre printed from Citi vs a hand written check that I sign will have less of a fear factor.

With high utilization my FICO goes down to around 690, without it is around 820.

This card is great! Definitely the most hassle-free card I've ever had. I got it in the mail yesterday along with the check made out to myself (in a different envelope) and it took 20 seconds to activate (without human interaction and the usual 5 attempts to get you to join the payment protector service)

I was able to successfully reallocate credit limits from this Citi Associated card to Citi Home Rebate (however, it wasn't easy)
more info

Please excuse my ignorance but I don't understand why anyone would do that.
I thought the whole idea was to get some free money for a year (as long as you pay the minimum balance each month and don't use your card).
What am I missing here?

I'm with you on this one, I'm also curious to the logic. Nothing will touch the 89.17% utilization on my Citi AB card except for the monthly min. payments!

Now that my BT check arrived for my account, I had my wife sign up for a card and she was approved for $7,500. I'll have her consolidate & close her other Citi lines into this card and then into the savings account it goes.

ShakuniMama - no problem asking the question. I have an explanation of why in this post (And also read response to lhendricks reply a couple posts down.) But to clarify it in one place:

The destination card had a 0% BT offer as well, so the credit line (originally allocated to the associated) that was moved over will still earn 0% BT interest income, for at least 11 months. About 11 months from now, before the Associated 0% BT offer has expired (it needs to be triggered 12 months from account opening) I might be able to consolidate the full CL back to the Associated Card, and execute its BT for 12 months. 23 months of borrowing @ 0% is better than 12 months.

Thanks for the info on this CC. I applied last night and think was approved for 15k (not great but will take it) Love the 0% and more important for a small amount a 0 transfer fee

Thanks jakeru for the great insight. You are a Pro at this.
This thread has been a good learning exercise.

Apparently they are very inquiry sensitive - I've only had 4 in the last 6 months and they denied due to inquiries. Faxed in recon letter explaining the inquiries in the last two years were mostly due to car/mortgage shopping - we'll see if that works.

I can't say how much I love this card... 13.2k from my Citi UPromise reallocated onto my Associated Bank card after 2 minutes on the phone. Now we're talking!

Now I have two Citi cards that have an $80 CL on them. Not sure why they do that, the accounts say closed, but still the $80 CL.

Did you guys get any type of email confirmation after you applied? I was curious, because I was approved for the card but haven't heard anything since....

I'm having trouble with consolidation. For those that are successful, are you calling the number on your associated card or the card you are closing? Has anyone successfully consolidated a Citi Dividend Platinum Select?

Nope, just the congrats page after applying. Like I said before, the card came very quickly (8 days after approval)

I just called the # on the Associated Bank card. Sorry, no Citi Divident Platinum Select, I have only had a PremierPass, UPromise (Rolled PP into this one), and now this one (rolled UPromise into this one)

Some reps are rather clueless abouut this, mine had to put me on hold for 20 seconds and ask someone else (I assume), but then got it done a minute later. You might just want to call back and try again.
