Does anyone know if giftcards.com gives points and counts as a normal purchase or balance transfer?
I can get a $500 gift card for $6.95 which is only 1.4% so its half the cost of the standard 3% plus possible points?

Ok, should of fully read the fees, max $150 withdraw from ATM, $3.50 fee per withdraw..
Any other suggestions?

Let me translate:
GiftCards.com sells Visa Debit Gift Card...
OP wants to buy $500 card, in order to get CC points for purchasing...
OP thought it was a good deal, because fee for card was "**ONLY**" $6.95...
OP forgot that to calculate the fees for getting his Cash Back, by using card to withdraw from ATM ($3.95 PER transaction)...
Spend 506.95, get points!!!
Get $500 GC:
$20.95 in fees (6.95 + (3.50 x 3))
Pay 4.19% for the use of 500, plus points on $506.95
Cheaper than buying points (if you have 5% CashBack (in points)), but not worth it... UNLESS you have a card that has 0% on PURCHASES AND 5% CB.... then you can churn $$$$, to pay off debt on another card or the like!
EDITED to add... I took the OP at his word for the fee, rather than checking:
$3.25 service charge for each withdrawal, please note the institution that owns the terminal (or the network) may also assess a fee (surcharge) at the time of your transaction
Fees go down $0.75 from my calc, but then increase by ATM owner surcharge, making this VERY cost prohibitive!!!
