krk206s said:For those that have already opened accounts and funded from another bank account - how long did it take for your initial deposit to show up online? I opened my account on 2/21, and my online account appeared instantly with a 0 balance. Faxed signature card 2/22 and haven't heard/seen a thing since. Money hasn't left my funding bank account yet.

I called Chase last night and they couldn't tell me anything about my account, other than it's open and available for use. They had no information about the initial deposit. They have no record of a check order, and when they transferred me to Deluxe they also had no record of a check order for my account.

I'm thinking perhaps they got backlogged with a bunch of FWers applying for this account, but now I'm worried something is jacked up with my account.

I had this same question. But Chase finally did the ACH but the money didnt show in the checking account yet. I opened on 2/20 amd Chase did the ACH on 2/27 or 2/28. For the checks I just sent chase an email from my account. They also noted that none had been ordered but placed a note on the account to not process any check orders.

Thanks runderwo for the direct phone, took me 3 minutes to cancel, What I did
- contact the check order vendor Deluxe at 1-866-322-1101
- Press 1 for English
- Press 3 for Order status
- Put in routing and account number
- Listen to the status - in process
- Press 0 for CSR

If your checks have already shipped, don't freak out. I just had one of the most wonderful customer experiences ever with Deluxe. Call Chase and ask them what the branch number is where your account was opened. I opened online and don't have any branches in my state and mine was 864, YMMV. You need this for Deluxe to issue you a credit. Then go through the above steps to get to a CSR at Deluxe. Tell them Chase ordered checks for your new account, but that you're confused because they said first box is free, but there was also a stated charge of $22.95, but you didn't really want them regardless. The CSR will probably offer to issue you a credit, if not, just ask if you can cancel. They will tell you to shred the checks and a credit will be issued in about 10 days. My CSR told me to put her on hold while I called Chase to get the branch number. She was still there and fixed me up when I got back to her. I asked her if we could do the same for my wife's account...no problem! Just had to give her the routing and account numbers and verify address.

Can someone confirm that the only way to stack the $125 and referral is if you open at a branch?

Thx

What did the ACH appear as? I just had something post this morning: TELE BKG HOUSTON for $100, which is the amount I funded with.

Edit: And still nothing shows up in my Chase checking account. Also, I attempted to link my HSBC account a few days ago (using the 074000010 routing number) and so far the trial deposits haven't shown up.

I had just the opposite experience. I opened up the account yesterday and the checks shipped out today. I called and spoke to two different CSRs at Deluxe and they both told me that they cannot credit me until after the charge hits my account. My account still has a $0 balance because the funding is pending. Chase stated that most likely I won't incur fees for insufficient funds, but that if I do, I should call them for a credit. Further, according to Deluxe, I have to contact Chase and have them issue a credit to Deluxe for these checks that I don't want, and that it will be at least 10 business days for the credit to hit my account.

Bottom line, cancel the checks immediately after account opening!

You can't just use any routing number. There are several routing numbers, you should use the one in your state and if your state doesn't have chase then you need to find out which state chase opened your account in and use that state's routing number. Someone posted the routing numbers several posts back.

My opening deposit posted on 2/27 with the identifier as 'Deposit ID Number XXXXXX'. So in all it took chase one week to make my opening deposit thru ACH.

Is referral can be added while opening the account or later?

I could add my referral after I opened the account. PM me, my banker can help add the referral coupon... and I have a few referral coupons too.

I opened the account on 2/12. The initial deposit from another checking account never showed up. No record of order of checks.
No bonus yet.

Does your new chase checking account still show up online? My initial deposit took exactly one week for them to ACH. You may want to call chase.

DOH!

I got a $100 offer in the mail so I opened a account today since it was expiring tomorrow.
BUT I just found this thread.

Being a FW, I tried opening another account with Chase online with this CC offer and I was able to. However, after I opened it and I got my signature page, a error showed that my coupon wasn't valid as I already redeemed the $100. "Your coupon reward: You have exceeded the maximum in dollars that any one customer may redeem through our coupon redemption program"

Oh well, I'm out the extra $25.

I Just finished this deal yesterday.

I made $440 (with potential to make $450 more in referrals, *see note) in one trip to the bank (I know of robbers who've made less)

Here's How it works:

1. On way to bank stopped @ county clerk and got my DBA ($10, good for 5 years)
2. Stopped @ post office, grabbed mover's pack for $125 coupon (printed $200 one online from SD thread).
3. Opened Checking acct with referral code from other SD user ($125 coupon + $25 bonus + $25/50 per referral). $100 opening deposit, Direct Deposit required (will try paypal first, if not, I've got the form to set it up from my work...

**NOTE*** Bank manager advised me that the $25 referral bonus is DOUBLING to $50 in the MIDWEST REGION ONLY (MI, IN, OH, ?) effective 3/1 That makes it $175 bonus for this acct. Plus an additional $50 for every referral you sign up in that period I got 5 for each of the two acts I opened, and will give them to the first to email me (don't pm) gabe [dot] mcg [at] gmail [dot] com I WILL ONLY GIVE YOU THE CODE IF YOU INTEND TO USE IT TO OPEN AN ACCT IN ONE OF THE THREE STATES LISTED ABOVE, and can prove it.

4. Opened a business checking acct with the DBA I just set up ($500 opening deposit), using the $200 coupon, and one of MY OWN referral codes, that gave me $50 bonus in the biz acct, and an additional $50 in the checking acct. I referred from. ($200+$50+$50=$300)

5. Opened a business savings acct to avoid minimum balance requirements and other fees for one year ($25 opening deposit)

So:

$125 - Personal checking
+
$25 (referral $50 if you are IN, OH, MI)
----------------------------------------
$150/$175
+
$200 (Biz checking)
+
$50 (referral bonus
+
$50 (for referring myself)
-----------------------------------
$450/475
-
$10 (cost of DBA, free if you already have one)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
$440/465
+
$225/450 (9 referral codes worth $25/$50 each)
------------------------------------------------------
$665/$915

$925.00 = Theoretical MAX profit (assumes located in IN/OH/MI, already have DBA, and use ALL referrals)

As a bonus, I set up a Citibank free checking acct. w/ DD for an additional $200 ($100 after 3 mo, the other $100 after 6 mo and last month I set up a Bank of America acct for another $100. This is a great way to make some extra bread if you've got the dough to spread into opening a few accts, and don't mind spending the time. I've only invested a couple hours total, and have made upwards of $700 so far. Please post your successes!
