**Original offer link is now dead but here are a couple other ways to get offer.**
1. If you have a CC account with chase, first login, then use this link. It should show the offer page and link to apply online. If you refresh this page, a new coupon code should appear if you'd like to give to someone without a Chase CC account (thanks GreedyEbayerApprentice and Squeezer99!)
2. "Jakobeewitz" did some work and listed a bunch of codes near the top of page 2 of this thread if you don't have a Chase CC. (thanks!)
- Please note that the option to order checks is automatic and you will be charged $22.95 unless you call customer service (1-800-935-9935) to cancel the order. (thanks glxpass!)

Odd. The offer is still at the top of their main page Chase.com but the link there doesn't work either right now.
I guess somebody at Chase keeps an eye on Fatwallet!
Its probably becuase it uses a redirector which will show the origin of the click. Its not hard to block, I dont see it on the chase site after about 10 refreshes

This irritates me. I have a paper for $125 for free checking, with a coupon code, expires 5/31/08. I tried on-line, but it said "coupon invalid", so I called and applied. Everything seemed fine, and Chase confirmed $125 plus some bonus UA miles for their debit card. Then a week or two later, they called and said there was some address problem that they couldn't explain, transferred me to the on-line desk, who said they couldn't help me.
if you increment/de-increment the ID number bu a couple of numbers up or down in the URL you will get the same offer with a different coupon code too, in case that matters.
If you want this for B&M - I moved and started forwarding my mail. One of the offers in my confirmation/moving package from USPS was a paper coupon for the same offer. Just an FYI
Odd that the online links were taken down so fast...

if you have a CC account with chase, first login, then copy paste the offer link in the browser. It should show the offer page and link to apply online

"To qualify for the $125 reward you must open a new checking account either online or in a branch and initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, pension or Social Security."
Has anyone done a paypal dd with this offer?

omega366i said: How do I sign up online without having to order the checks and get charged 20+ bucks? Credit goes to Vortix at AnandTech.com for this excerpt from his chat with Lorna, a Chase CSR:
Lorna: When opening the account online, the option to order checks is automatic. However, you are still able to open the account today and call a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-935-9935 tomorrow to cancel the order and your account will not be charged.
You can use this Google search to find this chat and other references to the bonus.
My account showed up online and sent a bankmail note to cancel the checks....last time, I simply returned them and they credited the amount...

Anyone know Chase's interpretation of this fine print?
"Limit one personal checking account-related reward/premium per customer, per calendar year."
I jumped on the $100 opening bonus late last year (i.e. in 2007). Is a calendar year considered 365 days from my last opening bonus, or simply one bonus in 2007, once in 2008, etc???

Hi, I need help with online application -- my driver license has some special characters ('*') because of my short name, but chase considered '*' as invalid characters and would not allow me to proceed. I tried with removing the '*' but it then complained not being able to validate my license. Any workaround? Thanks a lot in advance!

A calendar year is considered from January through December. It doesn't hurt to call and verify that's exactly what they mean.

ING sent their test deposits on 2/12 and Chase added both the $125 and $25 bonus on 2/19. Impressive!!

thanks, OP, just opened an account.
someone earlier in the thread mentioned they funded with cc, and wondered how that would count. i asked via chat and was told:
Anne: Hello, I'm a Chase Banking Specialist. How may I assist you today with your checking account opening? you: hello, i am opening a checking account with $125 bonus. if i fund it with my chase credit card, will it count as a purchase or a cash advance? Anne: I will count as a cash advance. you: i see. so, to avoid finance charges, i need to fund with an outside bank, correct? Anne: I am sorry, it will count as a cash advance. Anne: You can use either a Checking account, Savings account or a Debit card.
also, someone mentioned they do a hard pull if you apply online, so i asked about that. she said:
you: since i am already a long time chase credit card customer, will opening the account result in a hard or soft pull on my credit report? Anne: Neither, we do not check your Credit Report to open a Checking account. you: great. okay, well thank you for your assistance, i do appreciate it! Anne: We only review your profile with Chex Systems to see if you had any accounts that were closed by other banks due to money owed. you: thanks!
i know csrs often give conflicting/incorrect information, but i hope she is correct on that count.

It won't take my 3 digit code from my BofA Visa.
"Please enter a valid 3 digit code and try again."
I have never had this problem before and I am baffled.

I used the above DropDeadDeal code. Thanks to him for posting it. I assume the code is now unavailable to others.
