What's the best way to leverage this into a checking account to take advantage of the 0% for 12 months and $0 BT fee? The only way I can think of is to request a BT to a card that doesn't have a balance and get them to cut a check. Any others? |

I made a CA from my USAA mastercard into checking and then transferred the balance. Total cost was a couple of bucks interest, no CA fee involved. I think it's penny wise/dollar foolish to create a large credit balance on any issuer's account and request a check. People have been shut down for doing so, and it isn't how the accounts were meant to work. |

I've used the online form at Elan and US Bank to request BT checks sent to my USAA savings account. No problems. It seems like they just want an address and an account number, which doesn't need to be a 16 digit credit card #. They will physically mail a check. |

Has anyone tried to get multiple business cards from different banks? I have a M&T (20k CL) that expires next month. I applied today for Illinois State Bank business card and received instant approval for 25k. I BT 24.5k. I am thinking of trying for a couple of more but would like to see if there are any data points out there. |

Thanks, but I mean to leverage the 0% BT for 6-12 mo and $0 BT fee, so I was hoping for at the time of application. |

The interest for 1 night on $20.7k was $6.23, offset because I was able to transfer the money to a higher yield savings account the day before the BT hit. USAA savings rates leave something to be desired. There likely would have been a hold on the funds were a paper check deposited, though I have been able to call and get those undone. |

Waco (where Baylor is located) is a dumpy town. But the campus is nice. |

How quickly did US Bank process the BT request? My requests last summer took several weeks to complete. I'm wondering BT-ing to a credit card will be faster. |

Called today to attempt reallocation. Apparently my new CL on the Woodforest card is $31K. I requested a $30K BT on the app. Hmmmm. I asked about reallocation, and the analyst said I would have to fax docs to CLI the Woodforest card. She understood I wanted to reallocate, but perhaps they have a max line on a single card without docs. I faxed personal asset statements. I'm usually happy to provide docs, as I suspect this a good antidote for adverse action. We'll see what happens. |

Filled out the form on 2/15, BT hit on 2/20. Interesting thing is they authorized a purchase for $1 on 2/18. That had me kind of flustered because the target card has been sockdrawered for years. When I called USAA about it and they said it came from Fargo ND I guessed it was them. But that's good, non-invasive way to keep people from raiding other people's accounts. Though I do wonder what would have happened had I attempted to pay off one of wifey's cards or had the target account maxed.
One other note: this is an account that's been open since my 9/07 AOR, initial BT taken and paid in full. I got another 6 months 0/0 because of another thread here. It's been a long time since I got to re-up, used to practically be SOP. Anyway I don't know if the account being open for months makes a difference on how lon the BT takes to process. |

They did not pull a credit report. My guess it will be denied. |
