Another Offer
New Offer CSZ2
End date: 05/16/2008
If you are existing checking or checking+Ultimate Savings customer you can still get 20K ThankYou points

FUNDING OPTIONS:
1) Other bank account
2) Visa or MasterCard Credit Card: Some Citibank telephone representatives have said that it will post as a purchase, and others from the same departments have said that it will post as a cash advance, and Citibank does state on the CC deposit form "Your credit card issuer may regard this transaction as a cash advance or a purchase and impose a fee." YMMV, but some initial reports are that BOA, Chase, Citibank, HSBC and Pentagon Federal Credit Union credit cards are posting the initial deposit transaction as a purchase, reportedly netting CC rewards for the card holders. On the flip side, if it posts as a cash advance, you will be responsible for a flat fee of typically 3% for the cash advance, no limit, and typically 16% interest during the time before the balance is paid off. YMMV, but no one has yet reported the transaction posting as a cash advance to their CC.

I was going to post the same Deal. Looks pretty easy to me, good place to put some of that ballance transfer money.
Just got off the phone W/CSR I was told I could combine this with Promo MVS4 which is $200 for opening a checking account. Also I asked about how long the $25000 must remain in the MM account as it is not stated on the Promo. I was told there was no time limit you could open the account & remove the money right away.So $200 for MVS4 & two tickets up to $400 each equals $1000 not to bad for a few hours work.
Just Noticed mine is for 40,000 TY points or Two round trip tickets up to $400 value each, Not one

40,000 TY points?

I am in...
I just opened an account with MVS4.

Need to figure out what's the minimum effort to do direct deposit or 2 bill payment.
(Prefer pay my bill by credit card but I remembered I read somewhere that you can use bill payment for my other checking accounts (other MM accounts also?))

Do we need a code for phone and branch visit ?

do you have an offer code or anything?

What are the requirements for this MM account? Do you have to maintain the $25k balance the whole time? Is there a link to this offer?

According to the brochure I picked up, the 40K Offer is valid in CT, CA, IL, FL, MD, DC, VA, NY, NJ, MA, PA at CitiFinancial Center of via CitiPhone banking.

I take this is to mean you can't open the account online

The press release is wrong:

It says its available to new and *existing* customers.

However, the fine print of the brochure says Existing Citibank Checking customers are not eligible. Maybe that means if you don't already have a checking account, but do have a savings account, it's ok?

No promo codes in the brochure. Make sure to have the rep make a note in your account about the promo before you hand over the money.

No there is no offer code as yet. Must be different offer in other locations. I'm in Santa Rosa, California. I picked up the flyer at the 4th steet branch. The CSR stated you did not have to maintain the MM ballance for any lengh of time only deposit $25,000 of new money.
Also it does Not say "existing Citibank Checking customers are not eligible." on my flyer

It doesn't say "new money" in the OP... Guess I have to go to the branch and read it for myself.

I've never done one of these "Frequent Flyer" programs before, so forgive my naïveté . . .

How quickly are these miles available to be redeemed and can they apply to any carrier?

Thanks.

^Unlike normal round trip tickets awarded, these are only "free" for Cont. US tickets with a base price up to $400.00 AND you have to pay the taxes. The good part is you get to pick the routing and airline and get FF miles on the trip. Also, the tickets must be redeemed through a "fixed point" redemption via phone (not via web) & there was a recent thread with more details on that.

Check these threads:

Thread 1

Thread 2

In short, to be able to redeem using the fixed point option, you need to hold a qualifying card or product.

Points become available in your TY network account as soon as your account statement closes, showing that you have earned certain points. W/ credit card opening bonuses, the points posted in the first statement during which I made the qualifying purchase.

If folks have a copy of the flyer, would you please post or PM and I can post it...

One could also use the Citi TYP to get gift cards or re-pay student loans.

For the record, what I typed is pretty much the entire flyer except the copyright information at the bottom.

I have a checking account and savings account and I have some 25k sitting in savings account can any one tell me how can I make use of it and get this promotion?
I called up the CSR and she is not aware of this so she is going to request to send more information by mail to me.
I am in Illinois and hope there is a promotion there too. I thought of going to the branch but it might be closed on sunday.

I will really appreciate if any one could help me on this.

Thanks

I'll fax it to you if you have a fax #

After closer reading:" Existing Citibank checking customers are not eligible.
Must be funded by 3/31/08 with funds not currently held at Citibank or it's affillates"

I bet that they won't credit you the bonus if you withdraw money before 120 days (bonus pts shuld be credited withing 120 days according to OP).

If the offer isnt available for existing citibank checking customers (and it appears that they always are), I would pass since you wont get the points....there has been easier citi checking bonus offers for new accounts than this one unless you have the flyer for the 40k point offer...

tolamapS . . . "qualifying card" means, what, a Citibank credit card? any Citibank credit card?

What about Co-Branded's (eg. Associated Bank, which is issued by Citibank)?

I really wish there were a PDF of this deal somewhere.
