Thank you.

This offer is good to NJ, PA, MD, and VA residents.

however, I just called them, and found out that even you can open online or by phone, you still need to come to a branch to pick up the gift cards.
This is really weird, but this was what he said over the phone.

The closest branch is 50 miles to my home, man!

Cool,

There is one right down the road from my job on Security Blvd. Sweet!

I walked in during lunch with my $25 in hand, opened the account.

Said I would setup DD, asked for Online Access and my Visa check card - and I walked out of there with the Gift Card in hand.

They said it will have the $150 on the account by tomorrow. That was pretty damn easy!

Hard pull on credit check?

alert mods

For your information, this promotion will end tomorrow at 3pm, as the phone banker told me (though the webpage still says: "Offer valid from 2/27/08 through 4/15/08." ). NJ, PA, MD, and VA residents, hurry up.

Man, the nearest branch is 50 miles from my home and they said I needed to go and pick the gift card. Ridiculous requirement...

Has anybody inquired about the 20 dollar "account closure fee"?

alert mods

I did not see anything about a closure fee when I was in the branch.

I read all of the documentation I could find, but I did not see that.

Where did you find it?

alert mods

It's in the white fee schedule pamphlet. I called a CSR, and she said if I close the account by mail or phone, I will be charged. If I close at the branch after 90 days, it is up to them whether to waive the fee, but they usually do. The also have a dormant account fee after two years of no activity at 10 dollars per year (prorated monthly).

alert mods

Ok, I'll double check for it.

They were super nice in the branch, so I'd assume they'd waive it.

I already used the 150 on a snowboard on my last trip up to killington, I paid for the gas with the discover $20 GC's

CSR confirms hard credit pull
