T+06 03:00:00 Interestingly enough, today was the first day that I didn't have any changes in my credit scores. Today was a big mailbox day (see previous post). After sorting through it all, here's what I've figured out: Phase 2:
3 - AM3X IN:NYC -- card arrived. Quite a pretty thing. 10 - CitiBusiness MasterCard with TYN -- card arrived with $10,000 limit. 11 - CitiBusiness PremierPass MasterCard with TYN -- card arrived with $10,000 limit. 24 - Discover Open Road Personal -- card arrived with $5,000 limit, which was taken from my existing Discover personal card. Also received a letter saying they had moved some of my credit limit over because I wasn't using it (true) and that I could call to reallocate if I wished. 32 - Advanta Business Card -- card arrived with a, you guessed it, $2,500 limit. I made a note to call and ask for it to be $5,000 like my previous card. 33 - Capital One Business Card -- no card, but got a letter indicating I was approved. Phase 3:
b1 - Alliant CU savings -- Received a couple of letters, one with a 4 digit PIN I can use to access my account via telephone. How quaint. Phase 4:
k2 - BofA personal checking -- Received the signature card and a bunch of other marketing stuff. k8 - LaSalle Bank checking/savings -- The big mailbox stuffer of the day. They sent me a set of deposit and withdrawal slips for my savings account, an online password document, a checking ATM card, and two extremely nice starter things in nicely done folders. 2Cor521

What's the difference between this card and the CitiBusiness® Card with ThankYouSM Network? They look like they use the same link and go to the same application. It looks like you're referring to card #12. I don't think there is any difference, so I expect I will get declined for card #12. Whoops. As far as what happened, it was a result of the following factors: 1. Sometimes the same card is referred to by slightly different names and sometimes two different cards can have very similar names. 2. Sometimes the same card has different terms depending on how one navigates to the application. 3. As I came across better offers to the same card I would replace the link with the new one. 4. I didn't vet my links for this kind of problem. 2Cor521 |

Another thing I thought would be fun to do is call one of those credit counseling agencies and see where it goes. After all, I will have more than $10,000 in credit card debt soon, and I'd certainly like to see my debts cut in half. It could be a humorous conversation; unfortunately I don't have recording capability. (For all the legal beagles, I am fairly certain I have the legal authority to tape the conversation without informing the other party because I live in a "one-party" state. But I would check on the legal aspect as well.) This one from Oprah has got to be good. C'mon, it's Oprah! 2Cor521 |

Hi how do you get money from a Discover Business card into a bank account? I asked them if they would mail a check to the bank (or a blank one to me) and they refused (except a blank one for purchases which they said is not the same as 0%BT), and of course they don't do ACH. They did send a 0% BT blank check from my personal Discover card to me last year and I filled it and deposited it into my bank, but for the business card they refuse. I already have two personal Discover cards, so am reluctant to apply for another personal one with 0% BT on offer. I have an ATM card slash debit card (with visa logo) for my local bank's checking account, but I never use the debit card. Would I be able to do a BT to my debit card and have it register into my checking account? |

I have an ATM card slash debit card (with visa logo) for my local bank's checking account, but I never use the debit card. Would I be able to do a BT to my debit card and have it register into my checking account? I'm not the biggest "How to get BT money" expert. The information is scattered across a number of FWF threads, so searching and reading here would be a good bet. Off the top of my head, though, if they're offering 0% BT they should be able to do a balance transfer to another credit card. So what you do is balance transfer from Discover to a Citi card, and then you can ask Citi for a credit balance refund. I hear that you can actually have Citi ACH deposit the credit balance directly into your checking account; I haven't tried this yet myself. Note that some credit cards have been reported to be "credit balance unfriendly" in that they don't like this kind of activity. In that case you can just reverse the sequence of events -- ask for a BT from Citi first to create a balance, then ask Discover to BT to Citi to pay off your balance there. You may incur some interest charges with this approach. Citi has been reported as very credit balance friendly, I think BofA also. I think Chase is unfriendly in this regard. There are similar tricks that you can do with a HELOC if you have one of those that has a credit card attached to it. You can also do the debit card trick you are considering. I have done that successfully in the past with my USAA debit card and USAA checking account. The only nerve-wracking thing is that banks can sometimes be a little weird when they receive large checks from other banks with your debit card number as the reference...USAA puts it into some sort of suspense until you call in and ask about it, but it eventually works. As to my Discover biz card, I haven't thought about that one too much yet. If I recall it has a pretty low limit so it's not my immediate focus. 2Cor521 |

I would suggest using a BofA card or a chase card. BT a BofA or chase card into your checking, then Tell Discover to pay them, Then have BofA or chase BT to your checking again. Citi takes to long to do BTs, although that might have changed since my last BT with citi. It took 2 weeks for me to get a BT check from citi. But it has been about a year since I BTed with CITI. Just my opinion and there are many other ways to do it. |

Too lazy to search and find and link the threads of adverse auction taken by BOA, Citi and Chase for people drawing and paying back and drawing and paying back etc credit cards to get money out of 0% BT offers for cards who do not allow money to be deposited into checking accounts or issue BT checks. If you do withdraw then payback and withdraw again maybe you will get no adverse action except people who had done it 3-4x seems to have there accounts closed and sometime it is just not the card in the question but all accounts at that issuer including deposit accounts. |

Chase and BofA always BEG me to do a BT, I've never had a problem and get 0% or .9% offers all the time. I think it's just the same old A/A story, 5 out of 1,000 just isn't important to me. I don't use billpay but i've needed to BT 3 or 4 times with each creditor just to get my report updated with a 0 balance. Never a question or nothin. I know 1 of those A/A stories had 12 chase cards, Thats just asking for trouble, Abusing billpay seems to be another problem. I think the average AOR has nothing to worry about. |

If you have 2 personal and 1 biz, you'd have to first close one of them to get a new personal card. To get money from the Biz card, you have to request a BT to another card, or to a loan. A HELOC works great, or any small 'business' that you trust to pass the money along to you. |

2ndcor and Glitch, Thanks for your replies guys. Discover Business does not do ACH nor send checks to me or to the bank. I spoke to two customer service reps today based in the US, and both said I couldn't do BT via the visa/local debit card that I have. I think Discover Business is a lot stricter than Discover Personal. My local bank guy also said they had never heard about someone doing this. I have no HELOC or business debt to make use of. My CITI Personal card has a balance of 1k, but my Discover Business card with 0% BT offer now has a CL of 26K after my transferring most of my two personal lines to it! Should I try and do a 25k BT from my CITI Personal card to my Discover Business card and risk a 24K surplus on the CITI and hope Discover Business is not strict about that too (and that CITI sends me a check or ACH for 24K)?. Any recommendations? Seems like no-one else is doing a Discover Business BT here. |

I like win333's idea that I just read and will try that. I am assuming a 12 month BT offer means as many times as you want in the one year. |

Lol guess I deserved that for using the word "assuming". I always verify anything someone says here, especially since terms keep changing. Thanks for your help though. |

T+08 17:37:00 I logged into AM3X's website a few minutes ago for some reason. Be still my beating heart! If I remember correctly, these were the same folks who messed up on a reallocation last time around. Not that I expect it to last, but I've made a note to check on it in a few days. I'm really busy with my kids until Sunday, so I will post a full update in a few days. Suffice it to say for now that I'm getting lots of mail. The Quick Summary is pretty much up to date. 2Cor521 P.S. -- The numbers are still in flux, but including my "erroneous" AM3X limits above I think I may have over $3/4M in credit lines now. P.P.S. -- According to my calculations, I have $752,100 in total credit lines. |

Just make one trip to Mall of America or someplace like that and see how much of a dent you can put into that limit... |
