My dad and I, who were both members already, were with her, which would have qualified her for membership, but they actually said that they would make a donation to the PTA on her behalf to qualify her for membership. So you may not even need to say that you are a PTA member - they might take care of it for you! |

Everytime craig mentions Delta in this thread, take a drink. *hic*Let's clarify the rules - what happens when someone other than Craig (e.g. Argyll) mentions Delta? Or if Craig mentions Delta without explicitly naming it? Should we take shots in both of those cases? I have a feeling someone might wind up in the hospital... |

Can those who are teetotalers participate by drinking a shot of a non-alcoholic beverage? I don't think we should leave people out because of their drinking preferences. And I think it needs to be limited only to when craig10x mentions Delta. |

Sure, that could be serious and costly, but look at it as an opportunity to experience the sheer joy of Delta billpay. |

The question was not even on the online acct opening forms. |

Whenever someone mentions That-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named twice in one post you have to go outside and walk around the block. How did you enjoy your walk? Quotes count. |

How did you enjoy your walk? Quotes count. I enjoyed my walk, but anytime someone edits other peoples' posts when quoting them with "CENSORED" they have to drink sauerkraut juice. |

oops...a red....looks like someone doesn't have a sense of humor here actually, i WOULD start a separate thread...but with the majority of fw'ers being "rate-centric" i think that despite the nice features for general banking that they offer at Delta...i believe the thread would unfortunately, die out very quickly.....which is why i didn't..... |

I opened a Delta CU CD last year when they were one of the last places in the country to offer a 1yr 4.5% CD. I agree with Craig10x, they have a very nice web interface and an extremely fast ACH system. As much as I like them, I don't think they deserve their own thread since they no longer have any competitive rates. People don't come to FW looking for the bank with the nicest web interface. They just want the best rates. I didn't know that Delta's billpay system will not deduct a paper check payment until the payee cashes the check. Most billpays deduct the money the date of the payment regardless of when the check is cashed. Delta CU should be mentioned in the FW thread that lists all the financial institutions that do that (was there any others? maybe USAA?), but I think it has been archived. |

yes mapen....that is the way the do it (and then display an image of the bill pay check).....the only other bank i had that with was Bank of America....and i don't think they display the actual cashed bill pay check.... Delta had just dropped the money market account rate by .25% at the beginning of the month...however, even though Alliant has maintained the 2% for a number of months now...one does wonder if it will be maintained at the end of this month... Delta does often give back..at the end of the year, with some extra Cash Back (about 4.5% of the total dividend you got for the year...it doesn't even out with Alliant but does boost them up somewhat closer...but it is not guaranteed of course...still they have done it the last 3 years, i understand... Yes...you're right...unless it has top rates, it just won't generate much interest on fw....so i won't bring it up anymore here...nor will i start a thread for it on it's own... Which brings an interesting thought to mind...if Alliant drops the savings rate to 1.75% apy at the end of the month...would a lot of people here move away from them? |

I made a thread for Delta CU so that we can get this thread back on topic for discussion of Alliant. Delta Community CU Thread. Perhaps the thread will wither away and die from lack of discussion - but there will at least be a dedicated thread for Delta CU discussion instead of taking up space in the Alliant thread. |
