My friend just got this flyer in the mail a couple days ago. I'm in Chicago, so may only be local.
You have 2 choices, either get a Free checking account and make at least 2 deposits before May 31st, or open a Totally Free checking w/ a TCF Easy Savings (2.25% apy) and you'll recieve an iPod nano 3rd gen. I don't know if it's instant, or a 3-4 week deal. Also states that it's an Exclusive Mail-Only Offer on the ad ~ big YMMV. I already have a checking account that I haven't used for quite a while with TCF, so I'm probably sol on this one, but I mine as well give it a try.

I have a scan of the ad, but I don't know how to post it....

You could try uploading the scan to tinypic.com or picasa.google.com or Photobucket.com.

Thanks!

When I did the last deal, I went in with the flyer and they had me fill out a form when I got in. After two months of DD I got my bonus in the mail. Unfortunately, they had me fill in the wrong form and I got the wrong bonus. But they corrected their error and in the end I got both bonuses!

That said, everyone I know has had such terrible experiences with this bank in the past, I'd never use it for my main checking account. Also, they forced me to buy $14 in checks for the checking account at account opening last time.

So, I'd expect to get the bonus, but it may take a little work.
