Any recommendations on additional cards? Can I reallocated my personal Discover lines to the business line?

I'm looking to pull the trigger on this either 3/23 or 3/24.

Seems like a solid list. You're missing the ever-popular BankAtlantic business card. And if you do that, you might as well apply for a juniper/barclays personal card, and then you *might* be able to reallocate more credit to the biz card (via the juniper personal rep).

And remember that Capital One is going to hit all three credit bureaus with inquiries.

I think I have listed in my A0R pretty much all the best current deals on FW for someone like you here. Pick and choose the ones you want. The links were all valid as of about 20 days ago; a few of them may have expired but most should still be good.

I had an existing Discover personal card; I applied for one new Discover personal and one new Discover business and was approved for both via a mixture of new credit and shiftage from my existing card. Discover new accounts sent me a letter saying they had shifted credit line and if I wanted it rearranged I could call them. I did move all my credit to my new Discover business card by calling them. It was extremely easy and showed up online instantly.

ETA: The Discover CSR did say with a great deal of conviction that I could reallocate P->B but once I did that I couldn't reallocate back B->P. Since I'd prefer to use business credit this was fine with me, but others might feel differently.

Isn't that "Discover Business Card" appears on personal credit file? I got this information from some posts here. If that is the case, it seems to me that there is no advantage using business credit instead of personal credit?

I believe it is a very good list for AOR.

Thanks for the tips mark and 2Cor521.

I removed the CapOne card - not worth the triple hit, I wasn't aware they did that. I also added the Bank Atlantic that mark suggested (pulled cards from 2Cor521's list, as I did for most of my list).

I'll continue to mull over the list for awhile. Is there a reason why people tend to stay away from Discover cards if one can reallocate balances to the business side?

--edit: maybe peabi answered my Discover question... anyone know if that card or all Discover Business cards show on personal?

I would also copy the list of chase apps fromVenturions AOR list.

Does NOT show on my personal CR.

no citi professional?

I already have the Citi Professional, otherwise I would be glad to grab another 15k TYPs!

I updated my initial post with this afternoon's results. Deferrals are always annoying but I did get approved from every major bank I applied to, so that was good.

Thanks again to markkundinger for recommending the Juniper cards - $30K right there already!

Does anyone know if you can consolidate/reallocated a Citi AMEX with a Citi Mastercard? I am guessing no, but there is always hope.

FYI I saw you scrapped applying for the M&T Biz Card, but they do offer $0 BT fees, not $75 with this app.
Good luck

I have done it

Discover biz shows on my personal.

I read somewhere you can have more than one Citi Professional.

Funny that I was about to make that same comment. I believe the person who posted that even said that he was able to CLR from the old CITI Pro to the new CITI Pro and go for another 0.0% APR BT. I'd do the same thing any minute, I'm just not sure what story to tell the CSR when asking for CL reallocation.

Mine doesn't via my PM123 Report. Has it always done that for you? or just recently? How long have you had the card?

I CLR'd from Citi Platinum AMEX to Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards MC 3 days ago. The rep said she didn't know if it would go through or not but it showed up online within an hour or two. I've found the Diamond Preferred Rewards card is a great point card for CLR's within citi. I was able to CLR from PremierPass Elite to Diamond Preferred Rewards MC to CitiBiz card even though i wasn't allowed to CLR from PPE to the Biz directly.

Great info seniorfrugal on the Citi Platinum Am Ex to Diamond Preferred reallocation! I may be attempting similar move myself here soon.

Updated post with current results. I ended up applying for a second CitiProfessional card per cyberkost and TyroneSchulace suggestion that you can have more than one card and got approved! So an extra thanks to them.

Congrats on the 2nd CITI Pro. I'm curious how the CL on the new one compares to the CL on the old one ... also, I presume you're going to try to reallocate the old one onto the new one (after meeting the requirements of the 15K TYPs) -- please let us know how that goes.

I'll update my original post in the next few days. Right now I am wondering about FW'ers experiences depositing superchecks.

I have consolidated my chase line and need to deposit 60K+ and WellsFargo gave me grief tonight and said that they would charge $12+ fee, send the check to collections, and it could take 90 days to deposit (obviously I could care less about the fee, but I am not letting a bank sit on a 60K+ deposit for 90 days).

I deposited AOR 1.0 superchecks at WellsFargo and the only issue I had then was needing to go into the branch to deposit (I initially put them in the ATM and had them mailed back to me, they were ~$20K). Does anyone know of banks that will just do their job and deposit the money?

Thanks!

Edited to clarify that the money is to be deposited, not cashed.

To cash a check and to deposit one are two different things. A bank should be happy to receive a deposit (esp. in a zero-interest checking account) as they stand nothing to lose. They do put holds of various length on large-and-risky deposits, but the worst I've come across is Wachovia putting a 10-day hold on a $44K check. They did offer to move money over to a MMA though, so that I don't go elsewhere not to lose 10 days of interest.

Generally, the longer you history with a bank is, the shorter the holds. I don't seem to have any holds for any amount and regardless of how money comes into my checking account (ACH, check, DD, etc.) with Chase.

It's interesting you mention that Wells Fargo mailed back the checks you deposited via their ATMs. BoA seems to prefer that with me...BT checks I deposited via tellers had holds placed on them (I only did that once), but all of the ones deposited via the ATM were credited the next day.

Also, in case you're thinking about reallocating between your Juniper National Park and Bank Atlantic business card, try this number 866.408.4064, which is for the credit department (open 8-5 ET). I found the number on the credit card reallocation thread and I had no problems reallocating between my personal and business cards.

I put 40K checks in suntrust all the time, if my balance is low the WOMAN wants to put a hold on it. I tell her they have never put a hold on any of my checks, then she wispers with someone else and it goes thru.

I would talk to the manager, if they don't see eye to eye pull your funds with a cashier check.

I won't put up with it!

EDIT: Tell the manager there is a law called check 21, learn it.

redteamgo said: need to deposit 60K+ and WellsFargo gave me grief tonight and said that they would charge $12+ fee, send the check to collections, and it could take 90 days to deposit

Amazing! Clearly they don't want your business; just deposit elsewhere. No great loss: WellsFargo savings rates are worthless.

Note that it's fine to mail large checks to whatever bank / CU you've chosen for HYS. Doesn't hurt to scan a copy of that and the deposit slip first. Could even send overnight or other tracked service if you're nervous, but that's not required.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll just mail the check to one of my HYS accounts.

win333: I would talk to the manager and then pull my money but that wouldn't really threaten them much and I don't want to waste anymore time there. As others have said, WF is a crap bank for holding money in so I keep very little there and only use them for their ATM access.

ahself: Thanks for the #, I'll give it a try.

I deposit in my Wells Fargo since it is local and my CUs aren't. Then I do an ACH pull over to PFCU typically. Wells Fargo has only once put a hold and that was the only time I went through the drive-thru teller with a check for $8K. I knew she was going to do it cuz she took one look at me and figured I didn't look like the type to have an $8K check to deposit. I called her manager and they released it. I've typically only deposited checks under $15K and in the ATM no problemo.

Wait, aren't "superchecks" Wells Fargo credit card checks? And a Wells Fargo branch wanted to send it to collections? That's just retarded.

In general, if you're looking at a week or more hold on a deposit into a no-interest checking account, you're often better off depositing it directly in the HYS... even if that means mailing a check.

But still, this is where I'm a big fan of brokerage accounts (Fidelity and Schwab from personal experience). I can deposit checks at a local branch, funds are available for investments instantly, and generally avaialble for withdrawal in about 3 business days. Plus, the brokerages offer superior ACH features.

This was a Chase check. I think WellsFargo calls all credit card checks superchecks. Either way, I think it is stupid to send any check to collections upon deposit.

I just got it in '07. Man, this one almost screwed up the last third of a slow AOR. I was thinking it wouldn't show, so I put it in the first group. I had already BTed, then it showed up as a new acct! I'm just lucky everything else got approved before the balance showed.

What is CS Deferred?

1 - Advanta Platinum with Rewards 0%, 15 months, $90 fee, $30 CS Deferred -Can only have one card...will have to decide/call

$30 CS = Card Selection - OP gets $30 from cardselection.com for using their link. Deferred means that OP wasn't instantly approved.
